A lot of posts related to debating points over some aspect of what one monger said to another, or quality posts that deal with real issues related to the hobby and matching up hobbyists with providers.
Frankly, if the the discussion is not about finding more of the types of ladies I like and learning about new and exciting things to do BCD with my favorite ladies, then my time on here is wasted.
Age old question of whether quality posts trump quantity of trivial posts. From perspective of the MODS and Board Admin, they may like the increased volume from the drama, but when many start to leave eccie because of the drama, the blip of increased add revenue is only short term and in the long term, the board and community that uses the board, both suffer. My 2 cents.

Once again, BugleBoy is the voice of reason and truth.

So when was it fun? A year or two before you joined?
Use the search function, you will find this same thread many times over.

Ok, I'm a newbie, just barely past my join date, but even I can see that the tone of the site has taken a distinct downward turn over the last year.
When I started, it was common to see some banter between the ladies and the gents. Then sometime in the fall of last year, or perhaps early winter, the site went downhill very fast, to the point the ladies all but abandoned Co-Ed. And it was primarily the result of what the OP is pointing out.
Of course, I have no idea of which individuals he referring.

Being fairly new you have not seen the yearly cycle.
This same scenario plays out every year.
And if you'll notice not a single post was made for the second night in a row.
Fucking graveyard.
All you crybabies need to step up and post some shit.
Because the only thing less fun than personal insults and rudeness, is absolutely nothing being posted.
What's the point of logging in and clicking on Coed, if there is NOTHING to read?
It's real easy to armchair quarterback.
Much harder to get on the field and win.
Easy to complain about threads, much harder to be creative and post them yourself.
If you are going to complain and make the one's creating them stop, you are going to have to fill the void left behind.
So far the crybabies are EPIC FAIL!

The most controversial posters and threads have by far the highest view counts. One cannot argue that fact.
Current Guidelines against certain topics are set in place more for the security of the site/owners rather than to ensure a civil or even pleasant environment.
While the vast majority of actors in this online reality show would prefer a much less hostile environment the unfortunate fact is nobody logs in to read niceties or flirtations.
The sad truth is Eccie is no different than any other mindless realty TV show. The highest ratings and views come from constant senseless chaos and conflict.
It's seems that letting the crazies run the ward is the only way to keep the view count up which supports the owners interests.
Those of us including myself who are fed up with the reality show BS probably just need to back off and mainly use the site for info/ads keeping in mind why the site is even up.
Using the ignore button works perfectly for not getting sucked into the chaos however it is the blowhards who keep the view count up.
It sucks but Pleasant site = mongers stop logging in = mongers stop clicking ad links = Owners don't make money = Eccie goes away.

Who clicks on the ad links? I don't think I've clicked on any of the ads since my first week on the board.

He misspoke, the view counts allow the pop up ads to be seen whether you want them or not.

Yep, ad displays get them a fraction of a penny, whereas an actual click gets them several pennies. So yes, every page viewed gets them a bit more towards the bottom line.
Unfortunately, a lot of those page views are probably someone seeing an interesting topic line, clicking on it, only to discover it's another dickish post, and moving on. Soon, folks are only coming here every few days instead of a couple of times a day.
What drives the huge view numbers of some threads is mostly the trolls fighting amongst themselves.

Look there are what? about a dozen revolutionaries complaining, speaking of a drop in the bucket.
You people keep saying we, all dozen of you huh? lol
Contribute something better or STFU.
If your only contributions are only the bitching and complaining, what does that make you?
A nicer negative group? hahahaha

Getting view counts is not as easy as you think.
It is not the same 4 people viewing over and over contrary to popular belief (well popular with you dozen whiners).
Try it, write a thread, let's see what kind of numbers you produce.
It'll show you how popular you and your beliefs are.
Post a thread on anything, see what kind of viewership you get.
Tell you what we can do a little experiment, pm me once you have posted, and I'll do the same.
We will see how your beliefs fare.
My money is on you not getting 500 views.

While I do agree with your post what you want, take initiative attitude when it comes to contributing to the boards, I don't think it matters how popular a poster is or their beliefs.
When I first came on to ASPD, my viewpoints, hobby habits were against the grain and kinda still are. I didn't care what my view counts were or popular. That has never made a difference to me. If I did care, my hobby board persona would have never come out. All I care about is being able to post freely without the BS that ASPD had towards the end with mods like TC2 and gfe.
Do I agree with everything posted here on ECCIE? Of course not, but every member should have a platform to express themselves.
