Let me ask you something COG- if you went to your favorite eatery and while you were waiting for your order- the manager comes out and says: "Sir you are going to have to get up now and leave.." The first thing you are going to say is Why?
If the manager replies :"we don't serve OLD people here..."
Are you going to tell me that you will just politely get up and say ok no problem sir I will go find another place to eat or would you be pissed/angered/ and possible take legal action?
If you answer the former you are a BOLD FACE LIAR!!!!!!

Sure, I'd be pissed, but I'm not going to demand that they serve me. I doubt I'd be polite, but I wouldn't take legal action, I'd just find somewhere else to go. I'd end up forgetting about it, and be glad that I'm not spending my money where I'm not wanted. And I might add, I refuse to shop at places that I know don't like to have gays or minorities shop there. I will not shop at WalMart because of their employment practices. Furthermore, if there were a growing population of LGBT or other group being denied service in a certain industry, I'd seriously consider opening a shop and target them as a market. That's the way a free market works. If there is an underserved population, someone will target that population and make a good living.
I'll admit, I don't understand not serving LGBT. There money spends like everyone else's. But I also don't like government saying you must do this, or else. People should not have to abandon their faith just to open a small business. You can't shop at Hobby Lobby on Sunday. You going to sue them?
The simple answer is, if they don't want your business, there are 10 others that do. And they will do a better job than than someone who is forced to serve you. The bigots will weed themselves out. Not to worry.

If you're a member of a group that has a deeply felt conviction that they cannot serve a Jew, a black person, or an Asian person then you MAY have a case. Know any religions like that? Maybe one from the Middle East? Maybe one that is responsible for murders around the world? I've never heard about a religion that worries about mixed marriages. Have you?

Am I the only one who sees similarities between these LGBT groups and ISIS?
What they are saying is... "You will believe what I believe or..."
You will face a tax (lawsuits).
Or
You will die (go out of business).
Or both.
The many faces of fascism.

If the pharmacists owns his place of business he can decide what items to stock and not stock. If he decides NOT to sell certain items (birth control, aspirin, nasal spray) he shouldn't be sued for doing so.
If the pharmacy is a place of business, open to the public, he should NOT be able to refuse service to one group, while providing the same service to another group (i.e. sell aspirin to one group, but not to another).
Don't confuse open for public vs. private, not open to public. A wedding is a closed event and not open to the public. Most of the cases I am aware of are small businesses being required to provide on-site wedding services to a gay couple, or providing a specialty item that the business owner finds objectionable.
A small business owner should have some legal defenses against being put out of business if he doesn't want to provide services to a gay wedding, especially if it requires owner to be at the wedding.
Why is it so difficult to accommodate a very small (and reasonable) group of people who have a legitimate religious objection to gay marriage?

Should the store owner have the right to refuse to sell condoms to an 18 year old young man because his religious beliefs forbids pre-marital sex?

Perfectly put by someone who understands freedom and economics. I especially like the Hobby Lobby example.
I really don't see why if a bakery can be forced to bake a cake that we can't force Hobby Lobby to open on Sunday. Same with Chik-fila.
Archie Bunker had a funny episode once where a Jewish TV repairman wouldn't come out to fix his TV after dark on Friday. Nowadays, Archie Bunker could sue a Jewish guy for discrimination!!

Neither one of them wants free thinking if it disagrees with them.
Their motto should be: Agree with our enlightened policies or die!!

If the shop keeper wants to not sell his wares to certain people that should be his prerogative. In the end he is the one who will pay for his decisions. Let it be.

Let me throw something at you guys - what if the owner of the bakery was Muslim and a married couple wanted a to build a cake with a figure of a man and woman. The bakery owner says the only way I build this cake is if the woman has on a burka because in the owners religion a woman must be fully clothed and only her eyes can be shown- does the owner have the right to make those restrictions?
Bottom line if you are open to the public you need to know that all walks of life are in the public - it's a different situation if it's a private bakery.

there is quite a difference between discriminating based on race
and free exercise of someone's religious belief
even the courts recognize this
deeply held and recognized religious beliefs
lets say a wedding is to be held in a pornography store and the wedding couple wants a wedding cake in the shape of a woman sucking a phallus, some deeply religious cake maker cant demur?
the bible speaks of the institution of marriage as being ordained by God
whether you believe its a fairy tale or not doesn't matter
the country was founded by people seeking religious freedom from persecution
by established churches in the kingdoms of Europe
that's why freedom of religion is enshrined in the constitution
the constitution protects freedom of religion, it doesn't protect racism
public accommodation and the first amendment needs to be balanced, that's all these laws attempt to do
there is no discrimination in the providing of goods and services to all americans in the normal sense, only balancing of the first amendment with the intolerance of the left
that's why the hobby lobby case was decided as it was...
