I thought I was on ignore. You disappoint me with your deceit, UnderAverage. No, we should not lock up non-violent illegal aliens. We should send them home. They should not be allowed any benefits from government. It should be illegal to hire them. They should not receive business licenses. They should not be allowed to rent a home or drive a car.

You think this is bad? Look at the way Mexico and other countries treat illegal aliens. We are the only country in the world that rewards people for breaking our law and coming here illegally. And they are stealing from us. They are taking money from government. They are taking jobs away from citizens and legal immigrants. Many send the bulk of their money to their home country, so our economy does not benefit as it should. The presence of millions of illegal workers drives down the equilibrium cost of labor, which affects the entire working class.

Other countries won't stand for this.

While I agree with you on the last part, US certainly did not create the industrial revolution.

We can all chant "USA, USA" till we're red, white and blue in the face, but this is a political forum. The same rules don't apply as a minor league baseball game. You have to look at the country objectively and take the bad along with the good.

It IS illegal to hire them, dumbass. They are not taking away jobs from us citizens. That's a fucking myth. The fact of the matter is that if they all disappeared at once, this country would grind to a halt. The agriculture and farm lobbies know this. This is why the laws are not enforced.

Farm workers from South of the border did get "work permits" at one time, roughly 60 years ago, then Chavez started his campaign to unionize them, farmers rebelled, and began mechanizing much of the work using co-ops to spread the cost of the farm equipment.

The propoganda they come here for jobs is just that. Mexico "imports" (recruits) workers from Central America to do construction work, because there are not enough people in Mexico to do the construction work. Out on the West Coast, just outside of PV, the Government built blocks of "efficiency" apartments for immigrant workers. Relatively speaking in Mexico they get paid well and housing when they come. That is not an isolated incident.

When our economy sagged, many of them couldn't find work so they went home, but some of them accomplished what they really came here for .. an "anchor." The countries South of the border don't have "free stuff." We do.

Do you think all those kids are coming up here to work?

The problem is not having laws on the books .. the problem is enforcement. Example:

The maximum speed limit on the toll roads around Houston is 65 mph and many places less depending on the area conditions. If one does 65 (or the posted speed limit) punks honk at you, shoot the finger, run up your ass, change lanes right in front of you and hit their brakes, yell, and give you that "evil look" like they are going to step out of their "race car" at 80 and kick your ass. Sometimes you see them pulled over later. Most of the times not.

Does that have to do with the "stupid laws" and "lack of law enforcement"?

If you want enforcement of the existing laws, as opposed to paying lip service to it. Load up the INS with specially assigned agents to hit the spots where workers wait to be picked up in the morning, construction job sites, agricultural businesses, packing and canning sheds, and all around the coast of the Gulf of Mexico on the fishing boats. Arrest the employer, supervisors, and illegal employees, and confiscate all of their assets and the products being constructed, processed, and/or collected. Throw their asses in the jails, prosecute them, and give the prison terms ... no probation. Day for Day.

How long have our lawmakers had to get rid of the "anchor" and have fiddled fucked around? Wonder what the payoff is to them for not moving on this?

All those other countries are full of evil, racist white people for not allowing massive immigration, right?

You are right. I should have said "made" the Industrial Revolution, because we began to manufacture things on such a huge scale, and created a huge middle class.

That is not relevant to any solution. That is postulated as an excuse for doing nothing. It's sort of like explaining why it's ok for Obaminable to lie by claiming that Bush did also. The illegal alien "problem" began when people were not allowed to receive "work permits" for various occupations in this country, and without doing a lot of research on it, the timing suggests that it had something to do with attempts of "unionize" the workers. It was about that time.

When you make something against the law, one does not make it "attractive" to violate the law with impunity and then offer them "amnesty" to exonerate them from their illegal activities. That's only executed for the purpose of "eliminating" the situation ... they are no longer "illegal" because they have been given "amnesty" ... so NOW the politicians don't have a "problem" that involves any "illegal conduct."

Removing Iran and Syria from the terrorist list so "we" can negotiate with terrorists?

It's like the Galveston Tourist Bureau renaming sharks to "selachimorphas" in their brochures and claiming the Galveston beaches are no longer populated by "sharks" off shore!

Actually they are benevolent and generous, because they allow EMIGRATION ...

... so long as it is to the United States to relieve THEIR economic burden.

They should pick up some trash, claim to have made a "major" investment upgrading the beaches, then add a tourist sales tax to all purchases, then raise all city worker's salaries, get voted in again, repeat, etc. It is the cynical way many people do things these days. Kind of like a no name Federal Prosecutor no one ever cared about getting a high government post. The PR experts all of a sudden proclaim her greatness, and excoriate anyone who objects.

After reading all the post about Cruz, I have come the the realization that Ted has a power that no other candidate does.

He has been able the solve the "birther" issue by simply running for President.
No I am not saying he is not eligible, he is.

He is basically a Conservative version of Obama on many levels. Here is a list of some similarity's I found amusing.

Both first term senators
Both are minorities
Both are in the"birther" spot light
Both Harvard law Graduates
Both Were Law Professors
Both Were State-Level Officials

Funny how things change when the shoe is on the other foot.

That's the short and long of it. However, there are differences.
Cruz is a bible thumping maniac, do we really want someone who believes in an afterlife to have his hand on the button?

He's a corporate dummy who will most likely continue Reagans policy of fortifying the rich and terrorizing the poor.

He uses Obamacare AND the subsidy for his insurance, but wants to repeal it when he gets into office. What does that tell you about the integrity of his character?

He's prone to verbal gaffes. If there is one thing even idiot republicans can't deny about Obama, its that he is a very fluid speaker, quick witted and carries the charisma of a Unites States president. Cruz has none of these.

As far as Cruz being on "Obamacare," early on I thought ALL government employees, those elected and those hired, she be required to be "on Obamacare" ... or pay the $700.

And I'm including Obaminable, and his family.
