LOL... I can handle the trolls .. I am a pretty tough girl
Also: skip Drago's. I know they 'invented' char-grilled, but for my money Deanie's is the best of the "Seafood Three": Drago's, Acme, Deanie's. It's the potatoes in crab-boil. They get me every time.

Also: if you're in the Fr. Qtr. try The Gumbo Shop. You'll never guess what they specialize in...

He's right: but in mentioning that, we have local chains you could try that are good--not Commander's Palace/Jacques Imo's/Muriel's great, but good:

1. New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood. They're everywhere here: uptown, Qtr., about 30 of them on Veteran's. Decent food reasonable price. Best burger in NOLA? No. Best po-boy in NOLA? No. Best fries in NOLA? No. But is it a GOOD burger? Hell yeah. Is the Buffalo Shrimp or Shrimpzilla po-boy a GOOD po-boy? Hell yeah. Are those fries w/garlic sauce on them in the Top THREE fries in NOLA? HELL YEAH!

2. Juan's Flying Burrito. Uptown, Mid-City & now there's one on Baronne next to Jimmy John's. Good Mexican. Probably not the BEST MEXICAN EVER, but really quite good. Also, for NOLA--very reasonably priced.

I think they are one of the best in this area. If you like BBQ, then also give McClures (uptown), HIllbilly's (Harahan) and Ted's (Kenner).

It's a little touristy, but man I love the smell of buffets in the morning (that's right, an apocalypse now ref. That's how I roll). Take another couple of appointments. Dragos for late lunch/dinner if you love oysters. Later, Head to Frenchman street for music and fun. Don't miss sitting at an outside table at marigny brasserie. Foods not much to speak of, but it's the best people watching in town. Go home happy.

I TOLD you NOLA was the food-capital of the world... ("If a man makes a statement in a forest & there is no woman there to correct him--is he still wrong?"). LOL. Bebee do you know when you're coming yet?

Oh DAMMIT I forgot to tell you about BUTCHER!!!!! It's downtown on Andrew Higgins just past Tchoupitoulas. Best. Sandwiches. EVER (that-aren't-po-boys--that's Parkway & w/the possible exception of a little hole-in-the-wall place in Richmond that also does some magical things w/bread, ham & slaw...). Get the Buckboard-Bacon-Melt or the Moroccan-spiced-lamb-w/garlic-aioli-and-cucumbers. OK I know it's weird but I start to feel... warm and... tingly... when I think of those sandwiches. Oh. Oh, my... Would y'all excuse me for a few minutes? Thank you...

Stay away from Ralph & Cuckoos ... worst case of food poisoning I have ever had from the seafood gumbo.
