Thank all of you very much for all the sweet comments.
Like so many have said "its one day at a time", its been hard lately, for some reason when coming up on a birthday it gets hard. I have not had one drop of alcohol not even mouth wash with alcohol, that is was my demon... The other stuff was always decided by the people I was around and was easy to walk away from.

An overwhelming round of applause and congratulations to you Y!
As you know, I have been at about the lowest point in my life of late and I turned to the demon with a vengeance in trying to deal with it. I dare say I shudder to think where I would have ended up if it weren’t for the counsel and indescribably wonderful help I received from both you and Sara.
To the end, I have been drink free for over a month now and I am feeling better day by day. Again thanks to two of the most fantastic women I shall ever have the pleasure to know. I owe you both a debt that can never be repaid!
So, once more, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Even if one has never had any substance abuse issues I can't see why this still wouldn't mean a lot. It's a great achievement that some who've had those issues might never reach. Healthy body = healthy mind ... this is great. Congrats!

The only "program" I ever tried was for sex addiction. It didn't take.

It does mean a lot. I lost a very good friend of about 20 years, 1 year ago, tomorrow. He lost to the demons. He couldn't admit he had a problem but could admit that what ever happened he did it to himself. Little good it did his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.

Anyone with a problem that doesn't think it affects anyone but themselves needs to take a closer look. If you think you don't have anyone that cares it is because you pushed them away. Just another reason to be nice to everyone you meet because we all struggle with a problem bystanders know nothing about.
