Dallas Presby was like the Neiman Marcus of Dallas hospitals–a high-end profit center. No surprise to me that a black man with an accent and no insurance gets prescribed a useless prescription (antibiotics for a virus) and gets pushed back out into the wild. I think the medical staff at Presby are likely top-notch. I think the business managers are the likely cunts responsible for the fuck-ups. Not purchasing the right training, not purchasing the right suits, not putting a guy without insurance into isolation, etc..

Today, I see Rick Perry on TV stating that he supports banning flights from the affected countries. Face palm. Ricky - there aren't any flights to the USA or Dallas from those countries. If he meant passenger screening, it's impossible, especially given all those nice new automated immigration pedestals in DFW. There is no human to flip through your passport to see where else you've been. Oh, and never mind that all the health services experts in the world say that this would be the wrong thing to do.

You make it sound like profit is a four letter word. Who's supposed to pay the bill? Do you think healthcare is a right? Should gasoline at the pump be free? They gave him useless antibiotics. So, you have the cure for Ebola?

The people that appose flight restrictions are politicians not healthcare professionals. Obama just appointed an Ebola czar. His claim to fame is being Biden's chief of staff. He has no medical training. He is just another political hack to keep the party faithful in line and protect the President.

It isn't clear what she fully told the CDC when she traveled, or when she actually 1st notified the CDC.

Additionally, it is reported she was popping tylenol which masked her real temperature, so she knew her real temp readings could have been higher than she was reporting.

While on her trip, she purposely avoided close contact with family members. An indication she may be been aware of her possible infection?

Texas Health Dallas was the unlucky winner of the Ebola lottery. I believe they did the best they could given that they were literally learning on the fly with CDC guidelines changing almost daily. There is no doubt mistakes were made but it's just as true that every other hospital that sees an Ebola patient will benefit from Dallas's experience.

For whatever it's worth the Dallas hospital is part of a non-profit health group that operates a number of small regional hospitals that always take a loss on the books. If they were truly profit whores I think they would not run those hospitals at a loss.
