Black Beauty, Call of the Wild, White Fang

Then, a few years later, while we were reading Judy Blume in the classroom "Hello God, it's me Margaret"...

"Wifey" got passed around in secret

Oh goodness, so many good books from my childhood.

Where The Red Fern Grows is definitely my all time favorite. I must have read that book a hundred times, and cried every single time.

Summer of the Monkeys - another book by Wilson Rawls, not quite as good as Where the Red Fern Grows, but still a very touching and sweet book.

Are You There God, Its Me Margaret

Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Sidewalk Ends

Bridge To Terabithia

The Lottery Rose

Across Five Aprils

A Taste of Blackberries - little known fact, this was the book that the movie My Girl was based on.

The Boxcar Children series

Someone mentioned A Stitch in Time by Madeline L'Engle - for me, my favorite book by her was The Young Unicorns. I read every single one of her books. Loved them all.

Just reminiscing about some of these books that captivated me as a child brings back great memories. Special gratitude to my 5th grade teacher for turning me into the bookworm that I am today.
