Fine Wine

One area that I know I'm lacking is knowledge of fine wine. What are some of your favorites and can you educate me on why?

Here are some of my favorite wines (all Reds)..and we can talk about them next week.

Catena, Bodega Colome

Cabernet

I love Rieslings--they tend to be a little sweeter and not as bitter to me as some others. There's one that I like (Relax),and it's only like $12 a bottle. Guess I am a cheap date. LOL

You might get one of your guys to take you to a winery or wine tastings. They are super fun and educational. There all kinds of things they talk about, the body of the wine,what wine is served with different cuisines , what kinds of wine are served in what type of glass etc.

^^Holly...Rieslings are great and I enjoy them as well.

I am a huge wine fan and part owner of a Wine specialty store in Orange County. When the store was opening we tasted so many wines at various prices. The one thing I wanted to point out about wine since you mentioned the price of the Riesling you like was only $12.

I will say that price of a wine (imo) has nothing to do with how good it tastes. I have had bottles of wine that were $250 and were terrible! and then had a bottle of wine that was $16 and it was amazing...It's really what you enjoy and what tastes good to you.

I've always prefered the bubbly, but a fine red wine is something to be savored, like a beautiful woman.

I like your taste in cabs, SNL. I am a particular fan of the Silver Oak and the Joseph Phelps. Another label for you to consider would be Gundlach Bundschu. I have visited their lovely vineyard and love their cabs.

Here is one. I am a member of White Cottage Ranch vineyard. It is a very small boutique winery in Napa (Howell Mtn) to be exact. They are my favorite winery of all time..you will love everything they produce.

Lately I've had a sweet tooth....have enjoyed fine ports like Fonseca Bin 27 and others...matched to a fine cigar and blowjob.

Hard core Champagne fan here, but often dabble in a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc....it's a very tropical fruit forward Sauvignon Blanc with enough acidity that it isn't too overwhelming. Many New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are in this style.

My go-to is Kim Crawfords, which can be purchased at Costco, or even Kroger... also check out Matua's Sauvignon Blanc.

You may also like dry Rieslings and Gewurztraminers.

I love Ports. My favorites are either Graham's 1977, Fonseca Vintage (any year), or Dow's 20 year Tawny..

Please share some of your favorite Champagne. My favorite has always been Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc.
