This clip is an example of a Home Invasion that happened last year. no weapons were involved the victim took a brutal beating. Unfortunately in this particular case even if a firearm was in this house the victim most likely wouldn't have been able to retrieve it to defend herself due to her assailant was constantly engaging upon her. This certainly is an extreme case of an unarmed encounter.

Great question. Not me. But I'd rather all the bad guys had guns than just the cops. That's what it comes down to for me.

so the answer then would be to sleep with a gun under your pillow? In your shorts?

How about...MAKE SENSE!

Is that what you got out of this video? It took place at 10:30 in the morning this women was up and around looking after her child when this dirt bag kicks her door in, in broad daylight. You're so worried about kids getting gunned down in schools and you wonder how that can be stopped what about something like this which happens much more often. This guy was unarmed and could have killed this women bare handed. The following clip shows actual home invasion where the victims are actually murdered.

Jim, like I've asked others -- what are YOUR suggestions for reducing such crimes?

In the past 10 years, violent crimes have decreased dramatically, for whatever reasons.

But I think most of us would agree that it is still too high. So what do we do to reduce violent crime in the U.S.?

And with some of those items listed a person is required to pass a test or undergo an instructional course before using or operating them -- automobile, heavy equipment, industrial chemicals. Almost all will come with some kind of warning label which alerts people to the possible danger involved with using them. Yet a person can purchase a handgun without demonstrating any knowledge of how to use it correctly or when and where the handgun is allowed to be used or carried.

With most of the items listed, injury can occur when used incorrectly. Handguns can kill when used incorrectly.

I guess the best way to answer your question, is for people not to become a victim. That may sound a little cliché but it's true. Criminals are opportunist. If someone is walking through a parking lot fumbling with keys and grocery bags or texting on a cell phone generally not acting very alert to what's going on around him they could be placing themselves in a vulnerable position to be robbed raped, or kidnapped.

You forgot to include that "stupid" people who develop a "stupid" list that includes a few of the "stupid" items found above, are also dangerous.

Especially when they have a "stupid" keyboard in front of them!

I don't disagree. I've said it several times before -- owning a gun, or other similar weapons, will NOT stop a home invasion. Once inside the home, it is a crap shoot as to whether the homeowner can get to his/her weapon before the criminal can get the homeowner. The number 1 way to stop a home invasion is to simply put up a sign stating that the home is protected by a home security company. You don't even have to sign up with the company -- simply put up a sign. The bad guys will more than likely bypass your home for another one.

So that answer indicates that you believe people should be armed at all times so they do not become victims. Maybe even carry a weapon on their key chains or cellphones so they won't suffer an instant of exposure in a parking lot. Hey! How about an IPhone app that fires live rounds? That would "kill" two birds with one stoner, wouldn't it?

Really?

This line of discussion is becoming silly, Jim.

Are you saying that using "Wheelbarrows," "Q-Tips," "Cotton Swabs," "Silly Puddy," "Household Appliances," "Money," or the extremely dangerous "Burlap Sack," as a weapon of choice while trying to commit a crime is only "silly?"

I can see it now, the thug pulls out his trusty ol' box of "Q-Tips" and/or "Cotton Swabs" and tells his unsuspecting victim, "get in my 'Wheelbarrow,' this is a stick up."

Hey, it might work! The unsuspecting victim could possibly die laughing.

Let's break this down to the least common denominator, Bojulay's illogical comparisons are well beyond "silly."

They are downright "stupid."
