Honestly I think it depends on your style and what you are looking to do while you in St. Louis. Are you wanting to just work and not get out much, are you wanting to explore St. Louis a little, do you want a place with some available nightlife nearby, etc.

I know some will differ with my opinion but I think as long as you really screen, avoid cheap hotels, don't make a spectacle of yourself and don't have a huge amount of traffic to your room you'll be fine just about anywhere except in the jurisdiction of Maryland Heights which includes Westport.

I'm sure some of the local ladies can privately provide you with better information on each area you might be interested in.
