Default Best Whisky?

As a critically important discussion matter related to activities after 5pm:
Does Tennessee actually have the best bourbon?
Two major law firms and two major distilleries are slugging it out in the Tennessee political arena, Tennessee counts, and also Federal courts.

http://hosted2.ap.org/ARLID/54828a5e...6131ecd8abb8ad

So inquiring minds want to know which whisky is your fav. and why, other than JD & Dickel. I’ll hold mine till later.

Default I can't claim it as the best, or my favorite...

...but I have to support local when I can.

But which Tennessee whisky love?
Jack Daniel's
George Dickel
Benjamin Prichard's
Collier & McKeel
You're Kansas City's pre-eminent taste tester, so let us know which.

Guided tours tomorrow (and every other Thursday) at 6:30
By the way AG, "having to support local" does = fav
And, both of their sour mashes and the rye, all took gold medal awards at the March 2014 American Craft Distillers Association Annual Convention. The 2015 convention will be in Austin (road trip anyone?).

Suntory Red was popular when I was stationed in Japan.....claimed to be the most sold whisky in the world back in the 1970s

My current favorite is a single malt by Ranger Creek called Rimfire. It's mesquite smoked and delicious. Think smoky caramel with a nice bite.

For Scotch....value for the money I'd have to say Oban 14 year.

Rebecca Creek in my opinion is the best sour mash and James Pepper 1776 is the best rye whiskey.
