In 2012, it paid $77 billion to physicians and health-care providers.

You're OK with an eye doctor being paid $21.5mm by the government for one year? Seems to me you're the one having trouble ciphering......

I'm not in favor of government programs, but if they are going to do this, they have to make it worth the doctor's time. Many Medicare reimbursements do not even cover the cost of providing the service. Fraud should be vigorously prosecuted, but not at the expense of doctors who are doing the right thing.

What have you got against doctors? You've said stupid stuff like this before.

If it's fraud, prosecute! If he's complying with the law, then I don't have a problem with it, any more than I have a problem with most government programs. It's not like the $21.5 million went in his pocket. There are a lot of expenses in a practice like that.

But if he lied to get that money, prosecute his ass.

What the fuck are you talking about? Did you even read the link before you popped off?

Since when is $21.5mm not "worth the doctor's time"? That is the point CJ is trying to make. Some of these doctors are stealing from us and the ACA may help prevent some of that.

Physicians were "screwing" the government the day after Medicare and Medicaid were funded....

... and there wasn't a politician in office who would say "boo" about it.

Still isn't. Including Obaminable.

Right. So saieth the Oracle with the crystal ball who can predict the effect of the ACA on Medicare fraud. Just like you know every other bad thing that is going to happen due to the ACA and that you have been warning us about and that we all keep waiting for and that you will keep bleating about until the day you are in the hospital as an old man with an ACA affiliated health insurance carrier paying your goddamn medical bills.......zzzzzzz

Same shit, different day. Kind of like your mouthbreathing forebears who predicted the demise of the republic when social security, medicare and Medicaid were passed.....50-60-70 years ago. That is the beauty of your whiney-ass arguments. They have no due date and you can repeat them incessantly without the slightest need for any occurrence to prove you right.

It's amazing how dim-retards ignorantly believe expanding government bureaucracy is a way to save money.

You're one of the very ignorant dim-retards that post was referring to, Ekim the Inbred Chimp. And you've outdone yourself, Ekim the Inbred Chimp, in demonstrating your ignorance; because, everyone knows it's government bureaucrats collecting tax-payer funded salaries while they surf FaceBook, porn sites, etc., on-the-clock that are really screwing the American taxpayer. After all, Ekim the Inbred Chimp, how many planes does it really take to carry one family to Hawaii for vacation, and do you think congressmen deserve a raise?

This guy? The demonicRAT?

Salomon Melgen, a Florida ophthalmologist who has been linked to a criminal probe involving U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, was paid $20,827,341 in 2012, or 64 times the average in his field, the data show. His appeal of a 2009 ruling that found he overbilled Medicare by $8.9 million was rejected last year.
