Well, if it's Thailand and you didn't physically go to the court house, fill out all of the paperwork and then go to the records division across town and get the official seal affixed along with copies of your passport and her state id then it's not legal there or recognized here. Korea is similar except you are required to be married by a government officer and they also add a several business day waiting period between the steps. I'm sure other countries have funky regulations. It's best to find counsel from a legal person in the country you supposedly got married in.

I didn't know that about Ray Charles ... the substance abuse issue, which I'm not sure if we're supposed to discuss that or not.

I've always found arranged marriages and mail order brides to be an interesting topic. I started something about the subject several years back.

Good luck with this. She could just be an emotional woman. After all, leaving a country to live with an almost stranger has to be pretty dramatic and tough.
