Default A Cautionary Tale - who I'm leaving the hobby

This post is directed toward newbies or those on the fence about entering the hobby and also, those who are married or in a long-term relationship. Something for them to consider.
I first started the hobby in 2010, here is a summary of my experiences:

2010 - saw a provider but was too nervous to do anything other than massage each other.

2011 - saw provider1 had a HJ FBM. Saw provider2 had a BBBJ and massage.
Got nervous and had STD testing done. The results were all negative.

2013 (summer) Saw provider3 and provider4, activities: CBJ and CFS no kissing. Again did STD testing, results all negative except positive on HSV1. I thought no big deal.

2013 (OCT, NOV, DEC) Saw provider5 provider6 and provider7. Activities: BBBJ DATY SS CFS.

The providers I saw were all well reviewed well kept women. None of them were from BP.

Unbeknownst to me, my wife had a wellness exam done, results: positive HSV1 and HSV2.

My point is, no matter how careful you are or how well you think you can conceal. You cannot get rid of a virus once you acquire it. I am reminded of what Jeff Goldman said in Jurassic Park "All life will find a way to survive."

Were you or your wife suspicious? Because they generally don't test for HSV1 or 2 unless specifically requested. They are higher in cost and about 80% of the population carries HSV1-- rendering it an almost pointless test HSV2 is a different story-- but still, not typically offered in your standard "wellness exam" unless symptoms are present.

Most ladies who get tested have to specifically request to be tested for HSV1 and 2. They are not automatically ran. The first time I was ever tested after I got started in this... I was mad because they didn't test for those. That is when I was informed that those tests are never included in a normal panel and are at an additional cost.

Yeah, that was my thought, too. For the OP to consider, why would your wife have concern about HSV2? Not to upset you, but has it occurred to you that maybe you weren't the source of her infection...?

Bobave,
I am 100% sure I am the source of her infection.

Ok, first if this is truly legit, sorry for your situation but........
There are a few flags I see on this play:

Flag 1. You sat on a handle for almost 4 years, ok you could be a diehard lurker.

Flag 2. Said handle has had zero post history in those almost 4 years till today.
You currently have 3 post all of which were made today, your first post http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?...918&highlight= asking about LovelySummerLee and now this post about how you caught something and gave to your wife.

Flag 3. According to you, all the ladies you saw were well kept and reviewed ladies. Leads me to believe either you have a P411 account with which you hobby or this is not your only eccie handle. Again, my thoughts as it is possible to hobby without either of those, but if you were it seems to indicate not much in the way of screening happened.

Flag 4. When you tested positive for HSV1, with you being worried enough to get tested, why did you not follow up with your doctor since you claim in the test before nothing was showing? Why did you continue to hobby knowing you had at least that showing up?

Flag 5. According to your account, you were tested due to worries about getting something after the first 4 ladies you saw and then stopped when you saw #5,6 and 7, any reasons why you suddenly stopped getting tested when it had been your MO for your first 3 yrs in the hobby?

Again, I do hope if this is indeed legit, you are seeking treatment for yourself, are able to hold together your relationship with your wife and have contacted those last 3 ladies to let them know you tested positive and they should get checked out. You seem to think you got it from one of them, and you could have passed it on to the others without knowing.

Novacain,
I didn't think I had something meaningful to add to the boards until this post. Most of my messaging was done by private post. I do (did) hobby under a P411 account. I didn't think the HSV-1 was serious. I let the wrong head do the thinking. I do not know which lady I got the second virus from, but you raise a good point I will contact all three and let them know there was a positive test. Everything in this post is true. If you want to know more PM me.

If Im right, HPS1 or 2 is herpes right? They are very hard to catch unless you have done something BB and im not speaking of bbbj! So its sounding like you may not have been very careful!! Its generally very obvious if a provider has a sore on her mouth or down under!!!.. You can NOT get genital herpes from a bbbj so therefore it makes me wonder what you were doing! Or maybe the other poster was right and your wife acquired them somewhere!! Why don't more people become educated on how STDS are spread? It amazes me at the ignorance of people this day and age!!! Does anyone know that Syphilis is not spread through vaginal secretions or semen? It is spread from a sore that can be anywhere on the body!!!!!!!!!!!! Not just the genitals!!! Always be aware of any open sores on someones body!!! So again Im wondering why you say that one of these providers gave you a disease!!! maybe you had it way before you started the hobby!!! Have you ever thought that you may have given the providers an STD? Did you have this before you saw them? I suggest you stop hobbying!!!! PERIOD!!!

And just out of curiosity, what does being or not being a BP provider have anything to do with it? Im a Bp provider also and I know several very reputable women who are!!! Im sorry but I get tired of folks putting down BP providers!! Just be careful in general and you wont have any problems!!! Really simple!!!

Did someone just say HPS1 is very hard to catch unless you do BB ? haha I think that is half right and half incorrect/misleading, most experts agree that even with condoms it reduces your risk of catching an STD but does not eliminate it.
I am sorry for your predicament and I wish you could have listed the people you have seen but that is probably not allowed.
Go save your marriage because it sounds like your SO is asking questions or has found out.
Get tested regularly and open sores isn't always indicative of someone with an STD.

I hope u will have the decency to contact these providers and let them know.

And wtf u tested positive and saw 3 more providers andthought "no big deal" am i the only one that sees something wrong with this?

This is why ss is not and never will be on my menu i mean we all take a risk with bbbj and daty but the added risk of ss is never worth it to me.

http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed...-simplex-virus

"Until recently, scientists assumed that HSV-1 infections were not sexually transmitted. Now, scientists know that either type can be found in either the oral or genital area, as well as at other sites. In fact, researchers estimate that HSV-1 is responsible for up to half of all new cases of genital herpes.
To infect people, HSV-1 and HSV-2 must get into the body through broken skin or a mucous membrane, such as inside the mouth or in the genital area. In addition to the fluid from fever blisters, each virus can be carried in bodily fluids like saliva, semen, and fluid in the female genital tract.
Both herpes viruses may cause genital infections, and both can be contagious even if the infected person does not have active symptoms or visible blisters."
