Did you read the link? Did you look it up yourself? Tell me why would a conservative call someone a "white man's whore"? That came from someone who is black and 98% of blacks (sometimes 104%) vote democrat. So it is very safe to say that it came for a likely Obama voter.
As for as the left is concerned (proven by some exchanges in here) anyone who works for Fox news is a target of the left and has to be political.
I did post a link. There are many more if you just look or you can stay ignornant.

Can't go back brotha. Consider abandoning this party bullshit and doing some real thought of your own. Or set the politics aside and watch a decent show. True Detective is pretty good.

It's a false analogy to compare the astrophysics of planetary motion to the rise and fall of man's societies. It's a historically known fact that societies created by man have decayed and ultimately failed, and it is known fact that the ensuing periods of chaos, e.g., the "Dark Ages", are not remembered as being periods of human civility and high culture; yet, the world continued to spin.

My initial reaction was to say I don't know what you're talking about. But I do. Unfortunately it is not relevant. The point was, away from any artistic reference, that as long as there have been human males on this planet, which does revolve, or so I'm told, I'll buy it based on the movements I see, there have been old men bitching about young men.
That was my opinion as this thread went in a 'good old days' direction. I could have quoted Billy Joel: "the good old days weren't always good."
However, the OP it seems is saying conservatives don't ever keep people from working for political reasons, and liberals do. I'm not going into that, humans do it, the commonalities being greed and pettiness. I'm welcome the corrections in advance.
However, since you mention the dark ages, I say bring it. The world will keep spinning and we need some chaos and anarchy to clean shit up. I don't think it is far off; we're filling the Black Sea with fighting ships because a couple ladies are figure skating in the neighborhood. The news is plastered with pics of some lady wearing a headwrap (I mean no disrespect the name of the garb escapes me) who's supposedly gonna blow up a bunch of snow-skiiers. We might not set off a bunch of bombs, but we promote terror.

Mowry and her husband aren't even political.
...with the exception of your world of course, not everything is a left/right issue JD.

I find it interesting how Corpy uses the words "historically known fact" to preface a theory he's too lazy to corroborate.

the issue isn't that Mowry or her husband is or is not political.... they may very well be non political people living their lives..
its the intolerance and or racism of those attacking them and THEIR left/rightism....it may be, ever so slightly, that his point is lost to zealous stances

You mean "old men" like Al Gore who are complaining about climate change, and who reminisce how days bygone were better than they are today and fret over worse days to come in the future?

No, old men bitching but disrespectful youngsters. Like if Mike Ditka were to claim he never said anything shifty after a game. I don't know he did, and I don't like R Sherman, but I understand his blood was up. Al Gore is an interesting example, because he makes some good arguments yet he was nearly leader of the greedy consumers and can't possibly know the full scope of the future of our climate.
Either way sustainability is reasonable, let's not waste time on that, like we're wasting time on the concept grandpa often thinks he had more respect than the youth he sees.

Sure, Admiral. Just like Martin Luther King was a conservative, and the GOP was responsible for passage of the Civil Rights Act. Up is down, black is white and you are smart. You got it all backwards....dunce.

When Allison Janney of "The West Wing" was asked about any conservatives on the set of the show her response was that Aaron Sorkin "would never allow something like that.". Members of the left will try to accuse the right of the same thing but will be hard pressed to find a real example. John Wayne was a champion of the right and he made it a point to not fraternize with liberals but he never slighted them in movie parts. John Agar was a friend of John Wayne and husband of Shirly Temple. When Wayne found out that he was against the war in Vietnam he was no longer invited to parties but still appeared in Wayne movies.
Maria Chonchita Alonso is a Cuban born, Venezuelan raised actress. She has appeared with Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Nicolas Cage, and Robin Willians. She praised Woody Allen two decades ago but she has apparently "evolved" when Chavez took power in Venezuela. She condemned Sean Penn and Oliver Stone for their naivete' and blindness to socialism. Now she comes out and lends support to a Tea Party candidate for the governorship of California. She does not agree with him on everything as can be seen in the commerical but because HE supports control of the border she has lost a job. Even more so, note the langauge being used to dump her.
“Of course she has the right to say whatever she wants. But we’re in the middle of the Mission (the Mission district of San Fransisco). Doing what she is doing is against what we believe,” Eliana Lopez (producer of this Vagina Monologues)
So Maria has a right to speak her mind just not in this part of town...if it is the wrong thing that she is saying.

I don't think either side is lacking intolerance. There seems to be plenty from right and left.

I am intolerant of people who want to take away my freedom to live my life as I choose so long as I don't hurt or defraud another person. Other than that, I really don't care what others do.

Okay, then all that has to be done is for someone on the left to put together some credible arguments based on current events. Go for it.

IB does get you but let me wade in...they are not political but that is not the issue. Those that are attacking them are both political and racist. To make the point, there are some who don't want to fight Islamic terrorists but guess what? They do want to fight us. Tamera and her husband may not want to get into politics but their detractors do.
