5 worst diseases
A provider called me. She has Chlamydia.
I tried to calm her down and give good advice, medication and no dates! I won't be mentioning any names, but that's where recent posts have stemmed from.
In your opinion, what are the 5 worst diseases or infections a person could get during their lifetime?

MRSA-Many times this is contracted in hospitals. Can attack bones, blood, and organs. Could cost an arm or leg, maybe even your life if not treated properly.
Shingles-Millions have this and are never bothered by it. Some break out and end up in the hospital. Can be controlled if treated.
I am sure there are others just as dangerous as these two. Most people don't realize these can be very costly.
Chlamydia is not to be taken lightly.

Jumping Frenchmen of Maine - very rare- often overlooked - never correctly diagnosed - and can be very scary. Most of us have it and don't even know it- creeps up on you quickly- and then goes into remission until the next time - never know its coming, next thing you know, WHAM! you have it! - very unexpected and the symptoms sneak up on you.

Chlamydia is very easily treated. No stds are good, but all can be cured or at least managed. I'd say the worst diseases are brain, lung, and pancreatic cancer, Ms, and Alzheimer's.

Considering that it last forever, messes with your immune system, forces you to watch when you get tired, and so many other things-----good ole fashioned MONO. No, it won't kill you (it can if left untreated when you catch it) but it can really change the way you live your life.
Beyond that;
Prostrate cancer
Alzheimers
Stomach cancer
Lou Gehrig's
other than mono you don't have any say so whether or not you get these diseases. HIV/AIDs is completely within your control just like drunk driving or over dosing.

I second a bunch of the above, especially mrsa. Also, fibromyalgia (sp?).
