Yeah he really did he pleaded guilty to 156 counts of public violence, he had a train bombed for one. Maybe you should do some research, several of those counts were public bombing he admitted to it.

No, he didn't. Like I said, your sources are full of shit. Did you get this from the KKK monthly? From Glenn Beck? From the Ted Cruz Monthly Newsletter?
If YOU do a little bit of responsible research before you post shit like that, you'll learn that Mandela was in his cell when these incidents occurred.
If you tell us that you believe that a black man in a South African prison cell was able to orchestrate events on the outside the way gangs can in the US, you will embarrass yourself even more.
BTW, if 3 million racist assholes were oppressing 10 times that many of us here in Texas without us having a vote, YOU and I would both be resisting and considered as terrorists by the government. Right? Wouldn't you be resisting?

I am not supporting anything I remember the whole mess. Google is your friend. Why do you think he was put in jail? This is amazes me people are this far off the deep end with what appears to be no historical knowledge.

First thing I clicked on.
Google Mandella bomber, murderer, terrorist on that bring up the not so long ago history. Heck Google Mandella sinner or saint, shit he talks about being leader of one of the terrorist organizations he was part of. This guy did a lot of bad that appears to be washed away by good pr.
I don't have an agenda I really don't care, I just remember this from when I was in college in the 80s and now a guy that was listed as a terrorist by US for as long as I remember is now a hero, But the random bombing he did take credit for did kill innocents. That forever negates his hero card to me.
I mean really believe what you want but pencil whipping history that he was not involved in these horrific things seems pretty dangerous.
I guess having a good memory makes me a crazy right winger, I don't watch any spin doctor shit one way or the other too many agendas.

Lay off Ted Cruz, you dumb ass! He's one of the only Republicans to post on his FB page a memorium, as well as attend his funeral and say more nice things about him than he should have. He pissed some of us off because Mandela and his wife were Communists. So lay the hell off of Cruz!!

You gotta learn how to use the internet. Want me to cite a reference that the earth is flat?

Excuse me but Africa and South Africa are not known for being pillars of diplomacy. The John Lennon approach was probably about as useful as tits on a fish when it came to ending apartheid.
I don't identify with any group think doctrines. Republicans/democrats, liberals/conservatives all have good and bad arguments on just about everything. But it really baffles me how the extreme right attempts to label Mandela as having used "terrorist/gorilla" tactics while at the same time arguing for harsher military action against our enemies.
You can't argue the big stick mantra and then chastise an oppressed people for fighting fire with fire. Even today, Africa and South Africa still have some of the most corrupt governments in the world. How do you think GWB and Mandela were able to find common ground even when they hated each other?? Because the Africas are FUCKED UP! And they both recognized that.
Do people ever stop to think that maybe the hate they hear spewing from extemists on both sides of the aisle MIGHT, MIGHT only be a strategy to keep people tuned in so their advertisers keep paying???
Moderation and compromise doesn't keep the heat on! If it bleeds it leads! Stop being a pawn and think about whose playing in your ear and why!

I've been to SA quite a few times over a couple of decades. One of the most lovely and most unsafe places in western culture I've visited unarmed.

"Lay off Ted Cruz, you dumb ass!"
How many points do you get for that?
No, I will not lay off Ted Cruz. He is a bought and paid for puppet on a mission of personal glory. He is extremely bright and preys on those at the other end of the intelligence scale, which seems to include you. He should have been a preacher, like his racist old man. He used Mandela's memorial to further his political mission by walking out as Castro began to speak. Mandela would not have approved. I sure as hell hope taxpayers didn't pay for his trip expenses, because attending state funerals is not in his job description.
Ted Cruz is becoming a figurehead of the nut-job wing of the Republican Party and is going to be a big reason why Hillary wins in 2016.

Let's try to do a parity edit and see how this little thing between you two shakes out - just because (and no, I'm no teabagger nor a republicant and think both parties are essentially leeches and need to be purged of stagnation/DC lifers):
The other side of the argument (in your words more or less with a few mild edits to help)
"Lay off Barack Obama, you dumb ass!"
How many points do you get for that?
No, I will not lay off Barack Obama. He is a bought and paid for puppet on a mission of personal glory. He is extremely bright when armed with a teleprompter and preys on those at the other end of the intelligence scale, which seems to include you. He should have been a preacher, like his racist old man. He used Mandela's memorial to further his political mission by shaking Castro's hand and taking selfies like he was at a party. Mandela would not have approved. I sure as hell wish taxpayers didn't pay for his trip expenses.
Barack Obama has become the incompetent figurehead of the nut-job wing of the Democrat Party and is the big reason why Liberalism is U.S. politics being exposed as a ridiculous sham and failure of epic proportions.

Good one... Fair for the most part.
I will point out that it IS Obama's job to attend these functions. Also, it is my opinion that shaking Castro's hand is a big nothing, but most definitely in the spirit of Mandela... I think Mandela would have approved.

Here's an early Christmas present, TB. It's sure to be a big hit with all Ted Cruz fans this Christmas and it will be a great excuse to break out the crayons. Enjoy.

Peace.

I just have to ask you guys (from either party). When you look at that group of folks in DC running our country don't you ever wonder if that's the best our country can do?
In my opinion, we get the government we deserve.
Apparently, we don't deserve much!

Yes, SD, that's a REALLY important point. We seem to all forget who elects these imbeciles. We do. The problem is not Washington, it's us. We send these people there. It's pointless to complain about Washington... much better to complain to your neighbors and get people to think before they vote. Vote for people, not parties.

The respect for the dead thread has wondered in and out of context so much that at least I don't feel as bad posting this now.
In case you don't get it (know the story)
