I guess it is all a matter of perceptions. Because cancelling on the guys that pre-book because you didn't get enough appointments to cover expenses DOES come across as "you guys that pre-booked aren't important enough to keep the appointment with because I didn't get enough interest/money to cover expenses". As for the hobby wasteland, funny that the ladies that can't get enough pre-booked appointments are getting beat out by other travelling ladles that pass through here regularly and have the guys here lined up and begging to get one of the limited appointments with them. Just don't be surprised if the next time you plan to pass through a place where you cancelled, if the response is low again since you just proved that pre-bookings don't really count for anything. What would be the incentive for the hobbyist to pre-book the second time??

Bitch bitch bitch
Every one bitches about this but it all comes down to the fact the lady has to make money on the tours. If she posts a trip to some place she is looking for enough pre-bookings to make money. If the bookings don't appear than she must look some place else. She is not the government and has to make money or the trip is off. If a lady that I want to see is coming to town I will be sure to pre-book but I am aware she is not going to show up if I am the only one that will see her. That is one reason I book several weeks in advance for ladies traveling to my area. I do expect a personal email if she cancels the trip. I sent her a personal message that I wanted to see her so I expect a personal message from her. I do tell the ladies I see to notify me if they will be in town. If a lady says she will be in town and I am unable to see her I let her know.
when I get a message from her.
Ladies/gents communicate with each other so every one is aware of the chances the trip may not go as planned.

I see your perception. But again, roof over me and my families heads IS more important than one man's nut that I technically paid to be the cause of. So yes you hobbyists are important, but will I live in a homeless shelter behind dick, I don't think so. And also again, a couple pre-books is not asking too much to break even

And I also see YOUR and Charlotte's point. I totally agree it makes NO sense to spend $800 to get $300. Just trying to make the ladies aware that a short "Sorry, didn't get enough interest so I'm not coming to your town" email and bail is not going to gain you fans for the next time you intend to try and pass through that town. Be aware of how you communicate and explain the situation or expect to get even LESS interest the next time you advertise you are planning to visit if you bailed out the last minute the previous time.

Even "local" gals have somewhat related issues, and this all simply falls under the concept of treating folks as friends (that we see infrequently). As RL mentions, good communication, even if apologetic, can easily serve to maintain long term friendships, which, I think, is of significant long term value for the folks involved.

I avoid flowery explanations and four page letters, but I do give a two day notice to any gent thats pre-booked and often offer time extensions for the expected visit. So as I said earlier, besides communication , TCB skills are important too.

When I plan a tour, I go out with the attitude that if I break even then all it cost me was my time. I know that if I cancel without a good reason that if I ever choose to cum that way again, it will be remembered and hurt my reputation and bookings. So before I every advertise a tour, I have done my homework. What are the local hotel rates? What days does the local market hobby most on? Budget gas and food cost. I also will have been reading the local boards to be aware of the alerts and what other touring girls are booked that way as to not overlap ones that offers service close to my own. I have gone out many times with few prebookings only to have my phone start ringing while in route asking "Are you here yet?". To date I have never had a tour I regretted doing. I have also found that many that book 2-3 weeks out end up having to cancel as their schedules change. So cumming in with a few solid prebooks and being active on the local boards, letting others know you have truly made it to town, giving top notch service and leaving the drama at home have been my key to great tours in the past and I look forward to many more future ones as well. Merry Christmas ALL~~

SPOT on MS Athena. That exactly outlines the point I was trying to get at. We are fortunate to get a few providers that are as knowledgeable and skilled at TCB as they are at BCD, who also follow the rules you outlined above and get FANTASTIC word of mouth boosts from hobbyists they've seen before.. But those that don't do the research, that simply advertise in an area, make some pre-bookings, then cancel because there wasn't enough interest.. are likely to find the word of mouth is NOT in their favor if they plan to come through that area again. Nor are they likely to find the same folks they cancelled on last time, willing to pre-book with them again the next time.

Agreed. We have all seen providers that advertise in more than one area and decide where to go based upon pre-bookings. If they do not get pre-bookings they stay home ad complain about the lack of business...

I toured a few times, even driving all the way, and had cancellations happen. I think the smart thing to do (and a nice gentleman will do this) is get a deposit for your trip, from at least one or two clients. This way, you are not getting a negative bank balance, and you have travel expenses paid for. If nothing else, you will have a nice vacation with one or two nice clients!

I do ALOT of travel so preboked appointments are critical to me.....I usually do great everywhere I go ,but sometimes if it is not looking promising then "luck of the draw" factors in and I have to postpone a city and change directions.

Deposits
NO WAY on deposits I will bet 50% of the guys on ECCIE have been ripped off with deposits or pay now play later. The lady wants cash on the table when I walk in and I will continue to do that. Besides how do I send you a deposit? What is your address and RL name so I can mail you a check.

After reading this thread all the way through I see many people all saying the same thing. "Please show me some respect and I will show you some in return".
To the guys I say, remember this is how the ladies make a living. Don't take everything that doesn't go your way so personal.
To the ladies I say, remember that we are in this hobby because of a lot of reasons. But if we take the time to prebook and you have to cancel for whatever reason. A quick note or whatever saying "Sorry I can't make it to your city but I have your info and will let you know as soon as I can make it to your city. I promise to make our time extra special". I am not saying a free hour or anything, but the guy choose to prebook you for a reason. Something about you he really liked. Just a note like that will make him like you even more.then when you want to book his area you know you left him with a smile and he will tell everyone about the time you couldn't get together. ...BUT she is coming back just for me. Can you say great GFE.
Just IMHO.
