It has been 17 years since the Cowboys won a Super Bowl!!!
If Jerry were to buy the team today would he fire the head coach?
The general manager?

All great questions, EROS.

Let's see.....Jones comes in and terminates the only headcoach and GM in the Cowboy's first 29 years of existence. And for the record, this tandem was able to produce at one point during that stretch, 20 consecutive WINNING seasons (still an NFL record) and take the team to 5 Super Bowls.

This is Jerry's 24th year of ownership and he's on his 7th headcoach (so far). If he was buying the team today, he'd be a total idiot if he retained the services of the current GM.

Years ago, Steve Harvey a writer for the Los Angeles Times, started a very funny weekly column where he rated the bottom 20 college football teams and the bottom 10 pro football teams.

New Orleans' team was such a totally inept franchise Harvey renamed them The Aint's. Fans began to attend the Aint's home games wearing paper sacks over their heads.

Hey, maybe that's what should happen here. If the local fans want to deliver a message to JJ, imagine the stadium's seats filled with paper bagged fans?

IF....IF fans truly want to deliver a message.....imagine a Sunday or Monday night game....national telecast.......and only 8 to 10 thousand fans show up? Can you just imagine the humiliation the Jones family would endure for 3+ hours? Jerry and Crew, sitting in their luxury suite.....stinging from the obvious disgust and apathy the Cowboy fans have for the the way this franchise has been run these past 18+ years.....

If fans really want to send a message to this hard headed, arrogant egotist.....don't go to the games. Period.

It's the simplest of rule of Business 101: Supply & Demand. When the "demand" is no long there for a particular product / service, the "supplier" must change whatever they are producing.....or go OUT OF BUSINESS.

Maybe then and only then, Jerry finally steps down and hires a true GM....someone who's last name isn't blood or married to someone in the Jones Clan. A cut throat, soul-less devil who comes in and cleans house....changes the way the scouting dept and drafting is conducted.....and the way players' contracts are worked.

There's so much that needs to change with this franchise. But those changes can only begin when Jerry finally gets the F*ck out of the way.

Amen brother.

Dallas Cowboys lead the way as NFL teams worth over $1 billion on average, according to Forbes,
with a net worth of 2.3 billion.

That is the bottom line that Jerry pays attention to. Can't blame him for that. I just wish he cared more about the Dallas Cowboys record over the last 17 years.

One of the best owners in the NFL and one of the worst GMs in the NFL, if only he could set aside he gigantic ego and hire a GM.

Christmas is around the corner maybe we will get a new GM for Christmas.
Yeah right. Sometimes I crack myself up.

I don't believe the team can hire another head coach unless JJ agrees to get out of the loop, and I honestly don't believe his ego is such he will never agree to do that.

Cowboys are a 7 point favorite versus BYE this Sunday. I think Dallas can cover. However, I'm not putting money on that just the same.....

By the way.....it's quite possible BYE will still have over 400 yds passing against the boys MIA secondary tomorrow........

Plus another 465 on the ground. What does Bye week mean anyway? The Cowgirls have only shown up once or twice all season. I guess it means Bye to any hope of seeing the post season again.

Many of you might have already seen this, however for those of you who did not:

Jerry announced earlier today during a Channel 11 interview that he plans to be the team's GM for the "foreseeable future"....further explaining himself: the next 15, possibly 20 years.

Currently, at 71 years of age....well you can do the math.

He goes on to say, no matter how long it takes (to be presented another Lombardi Trophy) he only wants it handed to him as the "active General Manager" of the Dallas Cowboys (and not "just" the owner).

Clearly....and we've suspected this may have been the case all these many years......and now he's come out and publicly confirmed what we, as fans, have believed all along....clearly, Jerry is NOT interested at all in winning. He's interested in winning if it is done HIS WAY ONLY.

For the record, my SO immediately had all handguns and ammo removed from our home and padlocked the liquor cabinet.

I suspect, upon hearing today's interview, Stephen Jones' wife might have done the same.
