The Roku is a gift to merge the net and TV usage. Mine was one of the originals and there may be other options on newer ones. Will have to see if there is a plug in for earphones.

There are many options on satelite/cable that can be purchased at a price through the net. And I think it would be cheaper. There are still a few "cheap" places to go watch movies in the theather.

What kind of connect does the TV have for internet? Cat 5 or 6? If so, it has something similar to the Roku built in. What model number? Expensive?
