The same being for SS way back when, and the Supreme Court had a landmark ruling.

But none of that has anything to do with what I was talking about so I'm not sure if you just didn't get the question or you don't want to answer it and want to talk about congress? I was talking about the Executive branch and what the prez has the power to do under this law.
Fuel for further thought: How many 4 year terms by Republican Presidents have there been since Social Security became law?

Dwell on that for awhile! Once you've finished 'dwelling', let us know the year that one of those Republican Presidents was finally able to repeal SS!

Do you see the similarities yet? If not, you should!

If I'm wrong, I apologize in advance...If not, then refresh our memories, please.
What I said was the doctors are not involved in the financial side of the business. They get a paycheck just like a McDonald's worker does, only bigger. We own the hospitals, clinics, pay the staff, utilities etc. They simply concentrate on, and provide the BEST health care in every state that we are in all the while free from the burdens of having to try and manage a business at the same time they are trying to practice medicine. But if someone stumbled in with a gunshot wound or serious injury, of course no one would tell a doctor not to treat that patient, insurance or not.

Nothing to dwell on, the executive branch has never, before or after SS, had the power to repeal a law, only congress has that ability. Learned that in 5th grade and never dwelled on it again.

No. We should NEVER just "come to grips" and accept tyranny. This law is NOT about health care. It is about CONTROL! I will oppose and resist tyranny, regardless of the party behind it.

You can go ahead and embrace statism if you want, bend over and let government shove nationalistic jingoism up your ass while a portrait of George Orwell sheds a tear. Not me. Never.

Apparently you did not learn the lesson very well in the 5th grade. You sure were dwelling on it ALOT yesterday evening. It was you who first asked the question about why Obama can get the law passed and drew the analogy that a future Republican President should be able to repeal it. I merely expanded on your analogy. That being that this law was very similar to Social Security and future Republican Administrations have not been able to muster up the votes to repeal that legislation. Obamacare will be no different!

Live with it, cuz' it's NOT going away! It suspect it will be tweaked and/or fine tuned many times in the future. But it will NOT go away!

Yes, it would have been much easier to repeal the legislation before the law takes effect in 2014. But two things occurred, both in 2012, that sealed Obamacare's long term solvency. That being (1) the landmark Supreme Court decision quickly followed by (2) Obama's re-election.

Don't look now but it has been downhill ever since!

The Republicans can bitch! They can moan! They can complain! And they will do all three repeatedly! But they are not going to stop it.

Why?

Because Obamacare is NOW the LAW OF THE LAND!

Learn to live with it!

Thanks, I have been very fortunate. I entered the civilian workforce in 1973 after fulfilling a 4 year commitment to the US Army. I graduated from UH and have had a job ever since. I have quit or retired from 4 jobs since I left the military and always began a new career the following Monday. I have never been laid off and never been fired. For that matter, I have never been disciplined. I have (hopefully) invested well! More importantly, I am in good health and never had a life threatening illness or disease! As I said, I have been very fortunate.

With all of that said, I am looking forward to my upcoming retirement and benefitting from the much maligned (supplemented by the guvment) social programs that will be available to me.

As for my retirement plans, I plan on doing a lot of huntin' and fishin'. In no particular order!

I hit the big 67 in A few months, I will start drawing my full SS. The day I do, I will get up and be at my business the same as I have been doing for the majority of my adult life.

The best thing that ever happenned was when the Government said that you didn't actually have to "retire" to get your SS.

I plan on spending my SS, (what I have left after they take half of it back in taxes), on whores, or in my case, one in particular.

Sort of my way of sticking it to them, getting back at the man, thumbing my nose at the authorities, etc.

Go back and read, I never said a president has the power to repeal a law, not SS or Obamacare. Obviously you do not have an answer, which is fine. My only statement was that a Republican president will have the same power under the provisions of this law that Obama does, which is to order the IRS to not enforce the law at his discretion and the ability to grant exemptions to anyone he chooses. Both of which the next Republican president will do.

Not so fast! By the time a Republican becomes President (probably 2025) the law will have been implemented, fully in effect and gaining momentum.

Apparently you like to compare apples to oranges. After all, they are both fruity!

Both, which was referring to the president having the authority to grant exemptions and order the IRS to not enforce the law under the provisions of this law.

You can keep looking, but the only comparison I made was between what a democrat president has the authority to do under this law, and what a republican president will have the authority to do under this law. Apples to apples.
