Yep. also several spots in Martin City.
And don't know if it's still there but Oxford Steak House on Old 56 Hwy used to make a mean playboy. It was advertised as 29oz. but was always bigger. Salad bar, potato, and steak and they had to wheel you out.

One of the best steaks I've ever had was at Hereford House. But none of the steaks I had in subsequent trips came close to being as good. Once I had a steak at Applebees that was really really good, but that one was a fluke because the next couple of visits, the steaks were horrible. I usually have better luck buying and cooking my own steaks.

Oxford is gone now, it's a good bar b que joint called Johnny's now. No good steaks in Olathe, even Outback is closed (of course you can't count that).

Just FYI, Johnny's BBQ in Olathe is very good. It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Quality meats, reasonably priced and good sides.

DD&D raves about every place they feature. I tried a couple of the BBQ places they visited in KC and was disappointed with both.

I get the DD&D thing, but my personal experience there has been very good. I like it, but then BBQ can be somewhat like ladies.....finger lickin' good, but then, everyone's tastes are different. That's why they make vanilla and chocolate, my friend.

Johnny's is very obscure, but excellent!
Steak-wise, I guess I need to go back to Jess and Jim's. I hear that they have a contest where if you can eat a 72oz steak in an hour, you get it free! I'm sure I'd explode!

Just the 4 1/2 lb steak, and not a bunch of other crap too? I might could swing that.
The Ultimate Destroyer kills you with the fries.

This is far from the BEST steak in KC, but it's still a great deal. Tanners on Thursday night has 16 oz NY Strip, or 8 oz Filet for $9.95, and they're pretty darned good!

Okay, this might sound odd at first glance (ignore the fact you can't 'hear' with a glance, follow along alrighty) but SidePockets on 87th St. in Lenexa has a mean little lunchtime bacon-wrapped filet special on Tuesdays along with free pool. No, it's not the best steak I've ever had but it's very, very good. Damn, what day is it? LOL. Where are we going for lunch?

The best steak doesn't always have to be the highest priced. I take into account what I'm paying. The higher the price, the less I enjoy the meal. Okay, I'll admit that I'm cheap. ATM my favorite place to dine out is Sam's Club. For a $1.50, you can get a Nathan's hotdog and drink. Add sourkraut and onions, and you have a feast. Never been disappointed.

Too bad. Guess I shouldn't have waited ten years to go back.

Wasn't that the Johnny's in Mission? Are they owned by the same people?
