Too much baggage for me but....There are two all time top ten big men(IMHOH) here in h town that can teach him if he wants to learn.
He may not ever have the dream shake as a go to move but Olajuwan can help him with the footwork.
If D Ho want's to be a top notch center he needs to get nasty. McHale backed down from no one when he played and he has tried to bring that 'tude as a coach. Here's to hoping that Howard can find his "heart of a champion"

My sentiments, exactly!

Imagine that, pyramider and I are in disagreement. While pyrie says, "he (Howard) taint got it," the numbers show that he must have something!

During D. Howard's 9 NBA seasons, that includes approximately 700 games started, he has averaged 18 points and 13 rebounds per game. Those kind of NBA numbers don't grow on trees.

For comparison purposes, Olajuwon averaged 22 ppg and 11 rpg, during his career. Before you jump to conclusions, I would rather have The Dream in his prime than D. Howard. (Eat 'em up!)

Since we can't have a second coming of The Dream, I'll take my chances that at (just) 28 years of age, Dwight still has fuel left in his tank.

Just sayin'

The quote from boardman was "Here's to hoping that Howard can find his "heart of a champion."

A person either has heart or he does not. If Howard had a heart he would be really dominating as only a true center can. Where can anyone state that Howard has shown any significant improvement over his career. His low post game? Nope. Free Throws? Nope. He is getting by on raw talent, much like Shaq. Again, I will state Howard taint going to find heart because he taint got heart.

My bottom line: I do not know if Dwight Howard will play for a championship team while with the Rockets. I do know that the Rockets chances of winning a championship over the course of the next 5-7 years are greater with Howard than they are without him.

Question of the day: How old was The Dream before he finally located his "heart of a champion?"

Answer of the day: 30 years old!

You might say Howard did not show significant improvement over his career but his career NBA stats from the 2004 season on, say otherwise.

I am glad Dwight's here, let the games begin!

As a follow up to my previous post where I stated that I do not know if the Rockets will actually win a championship due to the Dwight Howard acquisition. I personally like their chances much better to win it all with Dwight than without him.

Apparently, I am not alone in that assessment!

According to a Las Vegas bookmaker, the Rockets odds to win next years NBA championship increased significantly due to the Howard acquisition. By the same token "the Lakers’ odds plummeted, going down to 40/1."

BTW, who was Dwight Howard playing for, prior to his signing with the Rockets? Wasn't it the Lakers? Hmmm!

From today's Chronicle webpage:

After the biggest NBA free agent development of the offseason, the oddsmakers at sports betting website Bovada.lv released new odds for the 2014 championship.

The Rockets, Bulls and Clippers have 10/1 odds to win it all, which is better than the defending Western Conference Champion Spurs at 11/1.

The top has familiar faces with the Heat as the favorites to pull of a three-peat with 2/1 odds. The Thunder aren’t far behind with 6/1 odds.

The Lakers’ odds plummeted, going down to 40/1.

Without a point guard they won't make it pass the second round plus they need another PF

That's a bunch of bologna, I definitely don't see him having much if any impact on the Rockets chances of winning s/*t lol

Too much hype-on his name only. IMO

I am going to have to see his transformation before any more of these over positive speculations
