i'm still not sure on what the political affiliation has to do with her being a racist. she was fired from The Food Network ...not from any office.

If I found a example of here using the race card. Would you understand then?

A couple of people still won't accept that MLK was a republican as well. Or that Barry attended a socialist party convention in Chicago (he signed his name).

Again JD tries and distort.

What was the Republican party of the early sixties is nothing like the GOP of today,

The more revelant question is , "What Party would Dr King support today?"

Clearly it would not be the GOP what with their voter suppression movement.

The old Democrats of the south moved to the GOP after the Civil Rights movement.

That part JD likes to leave out!

JD and his ilk believe you can hunt a black boy down who has just bout some Skittles and if he tries and defend himself , shoot him dead. That is the GOP that JD believes in.

She is both. So are you.
There are far more sure things than just death and taxes--for example you making a stupid unfounded comment. Where am I being hypocritical? Please show me.

As to the race card, I profusely apologize! I foolishly thought YOU tossed it in play with your OP and title. How illiterate of me, I was sure YOU had titled this thread "Lifetime Racist Democrat Paula Deen", but obviously I am mistaken. Thanks for correcting my error. Pray tell, what DID you title this?

Lying hypocrite, yep, that's you. Or did you misquote yourself?

More directly, what does MLK's political affiliation have to do with the question that was asked: "Should this be in the political forum?" He is wrong in either case. As usual.

When they start pulling support for rappers and hip hop artists that use the N-word, I will agree with business lynching others that use that word.

Cracker, please!

Remember when ole Imus uttered those horrible words when describing a girls basket ball team. They crucified him.

He's doing pretty good right now.

In actuality, King was neither a Democrat nor a Republican. He would not endorse anyone from either party, and in fact, in his own words, felt betrayed by both parties. The Democrats by capitulating to the whims and caprices of the Dixiecrats, and the Republicans by capitulating to the hypocrisy of right-wing reactionary northern Republicans.

Let me guess, you base your assessment on an OPINION article from one of the following:

My apologies if this has been mentioned by the time I read this thread.

It all started in the 60s. Most southerners were in fact Democrats. Then the Democratic party started supporting the civil rights movement. LBJ put many laws in place to support it.

That pissed off masses of Democrats and people left by the masses to the Republican party. At that time, the Republican party wasn't exactly racist, but they didn't necessarily show vocal to support civil rights movement either.

The south realigned to what we are accustomed to now. Of course, some Democrats never left the party for whatever reason and are still registered Democrats.

So all this is what causes people to get appalled when they read a registered Democrat can be racist in 2013.
