I have to say Octopussy, because I know the pilot who flew the BD jet through the hangar.

Wouldn't say View to a Kill is a favorite, but Christopher Walker as Max Zorin was a great homage to classic bond villains - it was an original screenplay. Not too impressed with Grace Jones as hench-person May Day.

Duran Duran theme song was also great! I still can't watch Christopher Walker without hearing "More Cowbell!"

Goldeneye, first one I saw and still the best for me. Gotta love Jean Grey squeezing guys to death.

Domino, MA, Domino.

You're thinking Solitaire because of the Tarot cards, I bet.

Favorite Bond Movie: The newer Casino Royale with From Russia With Love as a very close second.
Best Girl: Eva Green as Vesper Lynd. Has an almost nerdy beauty to her and a seductive set of eyes, not to mention other assets. Close seconds are Daniella Bianchi in From Russia With Love, and Domino in Thunderball.
Best villan: Gotta go with Javier Bardem as Silva in Skyfall
Best henchman: Gotta go with Jaws.

I don't mean to start any wars, but I could do without Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan. Made the movies too much like a comic book.

Best Bond Movie Line: Moonraker:

Q. What's he doing now?

Tech: "I think he's attempting re-entry."

Ian Fleming was quoted as saying Roger Moore was his ideal Bond.

Okay, not trying to start anything here, but Ian Fleming died in 1964. I don't think Roger Moore was evening doing The Saint at that time.

Just another ripple in the space time continuim.....

He started in 1962, so it's certainly possible that Fleming would have said this. IIRC, Fleming always said that he had Hoagy Carmichael in mind when describing Bond, so there's that.

It's hard to pick one Bond film as the best. Casino Royale and Skyfall would both be toward the top of the list for their depth and realism; the first three Connery films (Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger) would be up there too for establishing the icon. I'd be tempted to include On Her Majesty's Secret Service up there, too, in spite of the Lazenby hate. Diana Rigg is probably my favorite Bond girl (though Eva Green is right up there), but Telly Savalas kinda sucks. Jack Lord from Dr. No is my favorite Felix Leiter hands down.

Best Villain? Gotta be Scaramanga. Let's face it: Christopher Lee effectively controls the universe by now.

sdawg--Thanks for the info on Moore playing The Saint starting in '62. I had no clue. It certainly is possible then.

No doubt to your statement about Christopher Lee controlling the universe. He even managed to get himself on the cover of Paul McCartney's Band on the Run album.

Those early Sean Connery Bond films are great. Men are still wearing hats in those flicks!
