help with green dot?

Can anyone verify its safe to use a "reloadable " card for a providers deposite? I buy card and txt her #. Is this cool? Need answer pretty quick guys.. thank you

It's almost certainly a scam, or at a minimum a TERRIBLY risky venture. Think about your skin in the game versus the likelihood that she actually follows through. Most probable outcome is you send the numbers, and "she" vanishes into thin air.

Shes a pretty reputable provider. Thats why im confused why this what she wants.. its also a good bit but a small amount of total. It covers her driving from austin to me. How is that done normally?

I don't know what else to tell you, man. If she's reputable--cool. Talk with her about some other arrangement. If she's flaky, she'll demand the /green dot and you'll breathe easy knowing you dodged one.

There are some Alerts/Men's Lounge topics that involve formerly-reputable providers and requests. I didn't link them here, but they're worth reading. Search generally for "green dot" or "money pak." Good luck.

^^^ Woody, just realized you don't have Premium Access. Some of those links are ML, and therefore you won't be able to see them.

Executive summary: Same question was asked, and same answer given each time. It's virtually always a terrible idea to send green dot numbers to a provider in advance of a date. Doubly so for a first visit.

The green dot money cards are reloadable and do not tie to your RL name or info. For that matter, neither does cash.

If you want to send cash to a provider you have not met, that is your business, but understand the risk involved.

IN GENERAL ANY MONEY YOU GIVE A PROVIDER UP FRONT (Prior to meeting BCD) IS AT RISK OF DISAPPEARING ALONG WITH ANY PROMISES MADE UP FRONT.

I mean no disrespect and of course there are plenty of ladies I trust to do the right thing. But the stories about sending cash up front that are not happy, far outway the happy stories.

I think its important to reiterate the caution you should exercise in these kinds of situations. I reputable provider was recently caught scamming clients in exactly this kind of way, and additionally blackmailing ones who she had personal information on.
