Well said SL. It has been voiced often, just not quite so eloquently. It can be very time consuming some days to weed thru all of the non geographically applicable ads. Not everyone realizes that a "1 hour appointment" in North D is actually about a four hour endeavor for many of us Cowtowners. and that doesn't count the homework. (homework is different from practice) And how many times do we make that journey and then kick ourselves for not staying home and seeing one of our local treasures. I would love to know the fix.

I would just like to feel you Ze.

I have RTM'd a lot of ads posted in the FW ads inappropriately. Doesn't seem to help. I for one don't have a problem with using a HWY 360 divide, I tend to not play in my own backyard, but as my brethren I quote below has said, a North Dallas appointment is easily a 4+ hour endeavor for 1 hour of playtime.

If you look at the drive time with the current construction along the Airport Freeway, Grapevine Funnel, and I635, then at least 90 minutes, possibly longer must be allotted for a drive. This morning, I bet 2 hours in the rain is more likely needed to insure you arrive on time. I used to schedule 90 minutes or 2 hour appointments in these regions frequently, because it was the only way to justify taking the whole morning off. From my mid-cities starting point at 6 AM, I could guarantee a 7:30 to 8 AM arrival, 2 hours play, then 2 hours drive time to downtown FW. It was noon before I was at my desk.

roxy28, that doesn't mean that you're not one. Besides, I think Yvonne is pretty close to White Settlement.

The larger point is that, the less information an ad has, the less effective it's going to be; the more information it has, the more queries you're likely to receive.

Think of it as the first step in screening. But instead of screening for physical, legal, or financial risk, you're weeding out clients who have virtually no chance of seeing you before you even hear from them, allowing you to focus on a pool of potential clients that represents the greatest revenue-generating potential.

With a little free time, I thought I'd try to quantify those assertions. I went to the Fort Worth ads section and opened the first 20 ads.

I'll put the summary before the data: In the Fort Worth ads section, only six of the 20 ads featured providers who said they had incalls in Fort Worth or who appeared as if they might be available for outcalls in Fort Worth.

Now, I'm a purist about such things, and I'm also very restricted in how far I can go to hobby, so when I look in the Fort Worth ads section, I do so hoping to find women I can see in Fort Worth. Recognizing that others aren't so literal, I then broadened my criteria. I found 11 ads for women who appeared as if they worked in Tarrant County or might be available for outcalls in Fort Worth. (Knock out Holly and Rod, since I'm not in their niche, and the numbers drop to 5/19 and 10/19.)

It's not quite as bad as clicking on reviews and seeing "North Dallas" over and over and over again, hoping vainly to find someone I stand a reasonable chance of seeing without having to take a whole day off.

I don't know what the answer is. I think the moderators would be disinclined to add to their workload, and I don't think the providers will ever understand that, while additional information may be nice, geographic compatibility is one thing potential clients need to know.

The data:

Ad 1:
214 phone number; ad says incalls and outcalls but doesn’t say where

Ad 2:
Incalls in Euless

Ad 3:
Incalls in east Fort Worth

Ad 4:
Incalls in mid-cities

Ad 5:
Incalls in North Dallas/Richardson/Plano

Ad 6:
No phone number, no indication of geographic area for incalls or outcalls

Ad 7:
817 area code; you have to look at the provider’s avatar to see the location “Bedford”

Ad 8:
No phone number; you have to look at the provider’s avatar to see the location “SW Fort Worth”

Ad 9:
Location is I-30 and 820, but there are two such intersections, approximately 25 miles apart

Ad 10:
Location is 820 and Beach

Ad 11:
Incalls in Arlington; Fort Worth included on outcalls list

Ad 12:
Incalls in Plano

Ad 13:
Incalls in Arlington

Ad 14:
Incall in the Galleria area; for outcall, add $125

Ad 15:
Incalls in Bedford

Ad 16:
682 area code, but no indication of geographic area for incalls or outcalls

Ad 17:
Couple in mid-cities

Ad 18:
No phone; you have to look at the provider’s avatar to see the location “Mid Cities”

Ad 19:
Incalls in North Dallas, outcalls available in “limited area”

Ad 20:
949 area code, but no indication of geographic area for incalls or outcalls

Great post !!!!!!!!! I agree 100% percent!

Great post SL. Very astute observations. I too have struggled with this in the past as I almost refuse to drive to Dallas or North Dallas, primarily because of traffic. 360 is a great dividing line, if that particular guideline is adhered to. It seems to me the rule for this dilemma is in place but grossly violated by some and violations are disregarded. When such ads are posted, there is little regard given to flagrancy. Bottom line is, it's a pain in our collective asses.

Meh- nothing that CAN be done if nobody is willing to enforce the rules that are already in place. But then again, I believe the Last Minute Availability thread was closed because mods got tired of policing it every day. Ladies learned that it was a slap on the wrist to break the rule and often wasn't caught until the next day-- so they went ahead and took the slap.

Rename to Tarrant County and require ads to explicitly state which towns they are offering an outcall/incall in. Start handing out temporary bans for reported offenders.

1st time = 1 week temp ban
2nd time = 2 weeks temp ban
3rd time = 1 month temp ban
4th time = 6 month temp ban

Enforce that and watch the community police itself.

I like the idea of renaming it to Tarrant County but I don't think the ladies should have to name the exact town. Requiring the exact name of the town could put providers and potentially hobbiest at greater risk if they were required to use the exact smaller town like North Richland Hills or Mansfield. It would work better if they were required to name what part of the county like Northeast Tarrant County or Southeastern Tarrant County or they can name the city if they want to do so.

Who is going to teach the geography class and hand out compasses to all of the ladies?

I do think it is a good idea. I hate the use of the term midcities - for instance, Keller get's lumped into that term. Hell, Keller is further west than half of Fort Worth.

Newest threAD topic, I can see it now. Lady will post a threAD in the coed asking for someone to tell her "Should I consider myself in northeast or southeast Tarrant County?"

I post in both sections because I offer a Private, Residential Incall in both locations.

Make sub sections or something but there are quite a few who use to that its beneficial too or to generate their business.

Somewhere along the way (I've seen it mentioned in another thread), some have gotten the idea that we're discussing eliminating the FW ads forum.

We're not.

What we're discussing are several problems that make the FW ads thread not worth visiting for some prospective clients, and some have thrown out some ideas to remedy those problems.

Ladies, if potential clients are deliberately ignoring a primary forum in which you post ads, you should be concerned. If you're posting an ad in the FW forum and have no incall location or no outcall intent in Fort Worth, you're wasting the time it takes to generate the ad and the time it takes to reply to the guys who believed, based on the ad's location, that you were geographically compatible. And if there are so many ads, that are essentially useless to clients who hobby in Fort Worth, that at least some Fort Worth clients have given up on visiting the forum, you're losing out on potential clients.

When a guy says he'd rather look at the BP bodyrub ads for FS providers than visit the Fort Worth ads forum, alarms should go off in some heads.
