What world do you live in?

Infrasctructure and the military?

22% on national defense and transportation. That's just Feds.

Doesn't even factor in local/state expenses.

Now we have "nationalized medicaid" aka "Obamacare"!

There's a staggering amount of misinformation (lies) in this thread, especially about taxes and "wealth redistribution." TAXES WENT DOWN under Obama. FEDERAL SPENDING WAS LESS than under the Bush when you subtract the TARP bailout authorized by Bush (then implemented by Obama). The inequality of wealth is greater than in the last fifty years, mainly due to tax breaks and loop holes for the super rich...which Obama needs to fix if he has a spine.

Ideologues with an ax to grind to love to cherry pick POV data. Quit being a sheep and do some real academic research if you even care about the facts.

I'm done here. Time to go hook up with an Obama girl.

Completely wrong on both counts.

Consider what the level of spending today would be relative to that of five years ago if TARP had never been passed. Just back it out and look at the run rates of federal government spending during FY2007 and FY2012, for example.

And the rise in wealth inequality has very little to do with tax breaks and loopholes for the "super rich," which always existed. In fact, they were far easier to exploit to the fullest prior to the 1986 tax reform.

Rather than hector others on what you wrongly perceive as their ignorance of the facts, I suggest that you take your own advice.

You must be living in a vacuum and speaking for yourself. The manufactured inflation under the Odumbo administration has increased both the price – hence the sales tax – on everything purchased. Government sponsored inflation is itself a tax. Plus, Odumbo Care and the little trick with payroll taxes will cost everyone in the long run.

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

True indeed.

And in the same vein, here's another:

"Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts."
-- Daniel Patrick Moynihan

But if the "truth" and "facts" are actually important to you, why did you make no effort to become better acquainted with them prior to typing your previous post?

Yes, "the truth is incontrovertible", and it remains: government sponsored inflation is a tax. http://economics.uwo.ca/econref/work...0/wp2000_1.pdf

Winston Churchill was a conservative. If he was alive today, he would hold you in very low regard. What you call truth is nonsense.
The progressive income tax gets essentially all income tax revenue from the top fifty percent, leaving the bottom fifty percent to pay approximately two percent. The top ten percent pay seventy one percent of the income taxes and idiots like you say they don't pay enough.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill

"Obama Asks Bush to Seek TARP Funds From Congress"
January 12, 2009

"House Democrats
House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, said Jan. 9 he is working with Obama’s team on changes House Democrats are seeking in exchange for agreeing to release the money, including allocating as much as $100 billion to stem foreclosures."
