How long can it last! WOW!
After a year and half of hobbying, I look back and think, DAYUM. I went from sheepishly doing L1, up to L2, to full L3, doubles, milfs, 20's, every race it seems, etc. It was like 0-60 in 2sec it seems.
So, how long is the average hobby life? I know we had a thread talking about how long people have been hobbying, but I wonder what the AVERAGE time is? I suspect the girls are 2-3 years maybe? Guys are more but still under 5 years??
Just sitting here on a Friday wondering about this even though I should be working.
Happy Friday!

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no statistically significant data. But since this is an anonymous discussion board that doesn't stop most of us
I would suspect for the ladies the arithmetic average is a lot less than 2-3 years, depending how you define your population. If you include the huge number of ladies who do this once or twice and decide they can't do it. The ladies who do it because of one specific financial crisis--medical emergency for a kid, finish that last year of school after the financial aid ran out. Etc.
For guys, I expect there is a large number of 1-timers who have guilt issues that end their career after one day. If they don't have that issue, I suspect most guys are around a much longer time even though there may be a tear (or years) between sessions for some of them based upon opportunity.
To summarize, I don't really have any idea, but it would be interesting to hear. I make no claim to being knowledgeable OR typical.

I am one on those 1-timers. I tried it once but couldn't get passed the weirdness and awkwardness of having sex with someone who doesn't want to have sex with me. Some providers may enjoy having sex with their clients, or even want to and look forward to being with certain ones, but this is an unknown that can't be known because words are wind especially when money is envolved.
That's just the way I feel about it. I have nothing against the hobby or career. I find it fascinating and I enjoy reading forum very much.

My ECCIE Reviews

I think the average for ladies might be a little higher. Looking through my local scene, Mobile, and Alabama, most of the ladies posted have already been doing this for longer than 2-3 years. I think to get a real number you'd have to filter out one timers on both the ladies and the gents.. Those people hold no statistical value when compared to girls who've been around for even a few months. Being a "provider" or "escort" isn't defined by trying it once, same as being a "hobbiest" since it implies habitual interactions. Most women I know are longevity providers, coming and going from the industry, but never really being gone. Even those girls who "retire" usually still see a select few regulars. As for gents, I can say I don't think I've ever seen a newbie first timer that didn't turn into multiple visits.

I, too, have been around for about a year and a half and it seems as if I have gone from 0 - 60 pretty quickly. I can't predict how long I'll stay around, but right now I find the hobby to be a very fulfilling and enjoyable experience. Barring unforeseen circumstances such as health issues, I hope to continue for a very long time.

I dabbled with the hobby '85 to '08. Started to play more often in '09. Got serious in early '10 and have been going ever since. Some of my favs have been providers for over 10 years. On average I'd say the gals hang around for 5 to 10 years - in an on again/off again way - depending on changes in their personal life. I don't know that any of the gals I've seen have truly retired. They always seem to resurface after a year or two of being UTR.

I hobbyed regularly for almost two years about 6 - 7 years ago then took a break due to a guilty conscience. I then got the itch back last summer and started hobbying again over the past 7 months and then the guilt caught up to me again and I just decided to take another break. I'll see how long my willpower lasts this time.

I think you can break the ladies down into 3 camps. The lifers-- they've been in the hobby for a long time. They will probably never really get out of the hobby until Mother Nature makes is clear it is time to retire, but they will wish they didn't have to. The girls with a plan. They are the ones that won't stick around like lifers, but they will provide until they meet some sort of life goal and then walk away with no regrets. Finally, there are the curious. These are the ones who do it for a short period of time for whatever reason-- allure of quick, easy money with no specific need in mind, the excitement of having sex with different guys, need of cash for a very specific reason, etc. These gals maybe around for 1 day or a year or two. You probably find these girls on BP or some other quickie hook up type site. They are also the type of gals most likely to test the Sugarbaby waters.
For guys, I really don't buy the quitters after one time due to guilt. I'm sure it is out there, but I think once one embarks down this path, it will be in their blood. It might not necessarily be looking to meet providers, but to meet a variety of women in general to quench their needs (whatever they may be). For a guy, I think it would be really hard to stop or at least stop the urges.

Been in the hobby for 30+ years myself. My current AFT has been doing it for 7 years. Girls come and go do to various reasons but most of the girls I have seen last average of about 5 years in my experience.
