Default Southwest Missouri - Please Add

Where is one supposed to post info about SW Missouri? Is it KC metro/kansas? No it is neither part of KC metro nor Kansas. Is it STL/east Mo/southern Ill? No, the area of SW MO/Joplin& Springfield do not fit there either. Some posts are now found in the Ark area as SW Mo is near NW AR. The situation is that none of these work well and posts are found randomly in these various areas with no single source of information. This situation fails to serve the area of SW MO profoundly.

way way overdue, ridiculous that the mods think Joplin stuff belongs in St Louis forum. Wonder if they ever looked at a map.

The answer to your question is the StL forum....thats where the mods have decreed we "fit." But why not do a combined SW Missouri/N. Ark forum, make the current Arkansas forum for Little Rock and south in the state?

This new forum idea also makes sense because SW MO provides easily 1/3 (some weeks/months it half or more) of the content in the StL forum.

And even if you do nothing mods, please, at least let common sense prevail re: Joplin.....I would NEVER put a Joplin review in StL. Marrying Sgf and StL at least makes SOME sense under the current alignment....but Joplin makes none at all (1.5 hour drive vs. 4.5 hour drive?

i agree and it could make more sense for joplin and springfield to be in either OK or AR. STL doesnt make much sense.

A well written subject line would also help. Some areas cover an entire state.

Joplin or Springfield, mo or stl in the subject would solve your problem, if a new forum is not granted.

I'm watching this. I'm just curious what the consensus feels would be the best new structure for the affected forums.

I agree with moving the Springfield/Joplin boards out of St. Louis. People from KC are much more likely to go to that area than are the St Louis folks. I'm not around as much as I used to be so I can't comment on whether moving to an Arkansas board makes sense or not. I think either place is more appropriate than St. Louis.

Since Springfield and Joplin are fairly close to each other I'm not sure splitting them is a good idea.

Hopefully more people from those areas will chime in!

Knowing St. Chris as well as I do I am sure he will work with the folks from that area and figure this out.

All I know is that it has been a confusing issue forever. No one ever knows where to post for Springfield Mo if they are new, and providers post to both kc and St louis to cover their basis. I think it makes most sense to have N Arkansas and SW mo in one forum. One hour away from each other vs. 3 hrs to either KC or St louis.

This makes the most sense to me.

If Joplin and Springfield were to be split up, Joplin would be better served in the OK/Tulsa forum.

Don't forget Lake Of the Ozarks/Branson area which should be lumped into Springfield.

I like the idea a lot better of a SW Missouri, NW Arkansas a lot better and it makes so much more sense in the overall scheme of things.

Didn't expect we would get our own forum (the only reason I didn't ask for it), but I do love the decision, and I for one do appreciate it!!
