That sounds like someone was trying to bait you. People have said things like that to me, and I think it was just to get a rise out of me. Some of the best were:

Some people will try to attack whatever they think will be a sensitive spot for you in an attempt to gain leverage. For an ethnic minority the backhanded compliment about their ethnicity's stereotypes. For a woman, a backhanded compliment about her weight, beauty, or intelligence. It's pretty ridiculous, but I see it a lot. Lately I've been seeing it a lot with Latina women. Immature men think it's really clever to call a Dominican a Puerto Rican, or a Colombian a Mexican. I'm not really sure that ethnic pride will make any woman overlook an adult being that bad with geography.

Girl, don't get me started on the gems I get from my job and other areas of my personal life. Those statements came from clients! I seem to attract clients that are on the fence with Black people as a race. They're attracted to Black women, but have negative experiences at some level. For some reason, when they meet me, they're not only impressed with my overall presentation, but the little things that I know, or my table manners. I've actually had to tell a client that I haven't always been fed from a trough....

I had one client where all we ever talked about was him being discriminated against by Black people. He would say things like, 'man I wish I could bring you here to help me land this deal with these Black business owners. They're not saying yes because they don't like dealing with White people. I can tell.'

It's always hard trying to defy the stereotypes against you in any arena.

There are many things, imo,that separates the large gap between ordinary providers and the elite upscale high class providers. Looks really have nothing to do with it. Here is my list, in no particular order, of what distinguishes a high class provider from an average provider.

1. A high class provider should be on time
2. A high class provider should remain consistent in her communications
3. A high class provider will never over hype herself on her ads and posts and mislead the hobby community.
4. A high class provider should avoid talking about hot button issues and not try to impress you with her knowledge or background. A truly confident person knows what they are about and does not feel the need to boast.
5. A high class provider will always find a way to distinguish herself, either subtle or obvious, from the rest of the local providers.

We all have are own opinions of what a high class provider is. Reviews are somewhat important, but while one hobbyist might get his world rocked by a particular provider, the next hobbyist may not. We all have different tastes, and that is perfectly fine.
