I totally agree! Some of these people are making up laws just to make money! More fines and trouble for the city. More "conforming". This is not freedom in any sense of the word.

The tard was probably wearing his Halliburton ID when busted. Halliburton probably will not do anything to the tard.

Whether or not the haliburton vp beats the charges, the damage to his personal life and his reputation is already done. Getting the charge dismissed a year later isn't going to remove the arrest from his record or his mugshot from the news report.

If you have ever been in this situation, you soon learn that a conviction is not really what they are after. The are much more interested in you having to "take the ride". That includes a night in the "tank", getting all of the bonding, getting a lwayer, and then the court time.

No. 5 doesn't look like it bothers him at all. He's practically smiling.

Meh, not the worst thing someone affiliated with Halliburton has done.

I heard of a golddigger that was hired some years ago as a membership director at a prominent old-school downtown business lunch/social club. She stalked and investigated the membership rolls for information about their wealth and personal situation. She dug several people's gold, and ultimately found her prize victim in a naive, nerdy professional who hade made a pile but had no social skills. She worked him until he gave her lots of expensive things and let him think she was the one and accepted a huge diamong engagement ring from him only to pull the rug out from under him. When he saw what she had done to him, he let his dog out in the yard and got his pistol and killed himself. There is a special place in hell for her, I hope.

Just wondering is there any other activity that is legal to do for free but illegal to do for money?

Yeah you can hand out free booze but you can't sell it without a liquor license.

Agree with you on this one....however, I do have a smidge of sympathy in the fact that they are publicly made an "example" out of.......

Yes, he may be able to afford to have the charges dropped. However, it won't end there for him. I have a very good friend who happened to get caught up in a shady "toys for tots drive/social" a few years back. She was able to get the charges dropped and it no longer pops up on background checks. BUT... because it was "newsworthy" and made it's way to the internet, she can not (in this day of technology and google) get a job, even though she has a license and a degree, a simple google search of her name pops up her mug shot instantly. I agree with Wakeup when he says, its a risk and they took it, but I still feel some sympathy. Feel a bit sad that a simple hour of what may or may not be a pleasurable time can end ones career, family, and life as they know it forever. For girls in the provider industry who actually try to get out after being busted is almost impossible. It is a vicious cycle for them.. And this is just a conversation that chases it's own tail, but there are far more serious things for our gainfully city employees to be doing!
