Cops always threaten people with felonies to make it seem like you're going to be in a world of hurt. It's simply meant to scare you and get you to "cooperate". They are under no obligation to be truthful or forthcoming with you. Nor will they ever help you despite what they say. Remember that a cop's job is to find and arrest criminals. If they need you to "cooperate" it's often because they need you to make admissions of guilt in order to even have even a semblance of a case against you. Bottom line, NEVER talk to the police.

I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, either. So take that for what its worth. NEVER talk to the police without legal representation.

I probably put my own nail in my coffin then lol. A misdemeanor doesn't stay on your record and you can get a diversion for it. I'm just hoping the lawyer can talk to the judge into granting me a diversion when then I have to pay a amount for it.

Try to get them to plea bargain it down to something like disturbing the peace. Nice, vague and not a career killer.

A misdemeanor does stay on your record, unless you get it expunged. Even then you'll always have an arrest record and what you were arrested for.

I know a provider that went to Manhattan a few months back. When I asked her how that went, she told me that she was booked solid and made a lot of money. This proved to me that there is definitely a demand there, but I thought she was lucky that LE didn't try to set something up to nab her (since her ad was posted on BP) and trumpet the story of this type of arrest as an example of what will not be tolerated by the Riley County Sheriff's Dept. Granted, when she was there for those few days, she was far and away the most desirable provider in that market without question.

Manhattan is a small town, less than 50K population I think. Plus, for a college town it is VERY conservative. Not similar at all to Lawrence in terms of tolerance to those that are different or have alternative lifestyles.

Will the arrest record show up on a back ground check when a company does one when your applying for a job?

You should all arrest records show up forever. They key is to get the charge down to something that can be acknowledged in front of a future employer but you can call it a "youthful indiscretion".

Absolutely get a lawyer. I use the lawyer Master Dennis had, a great one, worth every penny.
