why are LE's so focused on prostitution

1) This biz is an easier target because it is "advertised." I mean come on... how many candy dealers come online and say "Come and get it...!" Lol

2) This biz is against society's "moral fiber." Which translates into "criminal issues."

3) There are NOT only ADULTS in the biz... there are unwilling participants and uncle leo is fully aware of the situation.

4) They are not ALL bad... if they were, we would have to agree that every individual on the planet is bad... and that is not an agreeable agruement. I do parically agree with some of what AngelOK said.... there are some that are "bully's," and have "power trips," but I would not condemn them all. Because the fact is that when the trash really hits the fan, who is responsible for the clean up? Not me... and I feel that they do not recieve enough credit for what they actually do. They are human beings, just like us.

5) They are in place for social control and crime deterrance... it is part of their job description whether or not we like it. It is the cost of having enforcement personnel.

LE focus is because sex sells. A bust is big news because its about sex. Why do thinck vice always steps up the pressure when its an election year? Marketers have known this fact for years.

Because of community activists pushing morality as well as the streetwalkers who are quite obvious in many cities and also the underage and druggies. It is also easier than busting armed felons.

That's a load of crap the cops are selling for their own profit. The internet has decentralized the industry and made independents far more common than they've ever been, but "criminal gangs" scare the public and win more money for the cops.

its the bad apple group of prostitution that causes visibility for us all. the underage kiddy stuff that captures our great Americans like preachers, politicians, lawyers, doctors, high ranking government officials, etc..... and the fact that the traffickers know that there is a popular general market for them.

I think they focus on it because they want to stop child prostitution...Adults just happen to be there so they get them too . No, seriously they focus on plenty of things. They arrest people everyday for different reasons...not just prostitution.

I would assume a few things

1) Easy and safe arrests, most providers probably wont take shots at police like a drug dealer possibly would (especially in a 3 strike state)

2) Good press, the press will show such stories of the LE community standing up for "Morals"

3) Its revenue builder for a county/municipality, those arrested pay fines court fees ect, plus if further the DA gets a higher conviction rate.

Low hanging fruit - tuck ur ass up under ur dress and get off the street and play a smart game. Cops are not only dumb, they are lazy, and they have constrictions. Be smarter than than them and use their real constrictions against them.

Election Time - Election years are a great time for all the little lazy piggies to be sent to the streets to do their job for once or twice a decade. Watch out when that happens. They might actually clean the bats out of their belfries and do something during these times.

Underage - Man really wish I could truly say that they are making some extra effort to protect kids. They're not. Look out for your own kids. Support tracking chip implants for children.

SW - Man there's nothing better to get you thrown in jail than pissing off the neighborhood and the morally self righteous bitches out there. And if people keep complaining about you...then the lazy bastards have to get up and do something about it....which brings you back to the beginning...

I think LE just wants to put enough pressure on the business to keep it low key. They have no allusions of getting rid of the sex biz, but if they can keep it UTR of most of the public, then they get less grief from the civic leaders. But when city budgets are getting made up, the more they can pad their arrests records, the better the odds they can get increased funding in the budget, which trickles down to pay raises. Just my two cents.
