Ok. . .so President Biden said that they would go door-to-door to pressure people not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 to get the shots, but it raises questions and suggests unspoken ramifications of a wider scope.
How do they know who has or has not been vaccinated? Whatever happened to the HIPA laws, the Health Information Protection Act . . . the health privacy law? How do they have access to our health records?
What else do they know about us; party affiliation, gun ownership, who we e-mail or contribute to?
Who is it that will soon be knocking on our doors anyway; the FBI, some public-health social worker . . .the Capitol Police?
This morning, I heard a news story that said that the Capitol Police had announced that they were opening regional officers in many states to facilitate investigating potential threats against federal Representatives and Senators. This in conjunction with the Jan 6th events in DC. If someone now says publicly or online that they think Rep/Sen So-and-So is a bad person and should be removed from office . . .is that a threat?
With that in motion, there will be an agency in place that could easily become a "National Police Force" as envisioned by the previous Democratic administration. Now then, because the Capitol Police are technically part of the legislative branch, they are exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests . . .no transparency, no accountability.
Another aspect of this discussion is the nationwide effort to de-fund, reduce or "re-imagine" local police forces in the major cities. With that in mind, note that Gov Cuomo (D, NY) has signed a declaration of a State-Of -regency in New York State. this will facilitate state and federal funding to, and focus other resources on high crime areas in the state . . .after local policing resources have been reduced or defunded. Gone will be local control, in will come state and federally controlled law enforcement.
