new prostitution legalization issues in Louisianna
here is a quote from the newspaper......
"
Hi! I'm Louisiana Governor Piyush Jindal.
If you commit a sex crime in My state, You will be labeled a Monster, a Sex Offender.
Oral sex is a Crime against Nature. If Our boys catch you engaged in Oral Sex in Louisiana, you will be banned from society and possibly thrown into our prison, Angola. You nasty sex offenders should stay away from Louisiana.
One note, I accept All donations as I am running for President in 2012. I hope I can count on your vote.
Note, the above text was not a quote from Piyush Jindal. Simply one tax payers opinion of his views after hearing him speak out on sex monsters in Louisiana. "
One note, I accept All donations as I am running for President in 2012. I hope I can count on your vote.
.............................. .................
Of the 7,986 sex offenders registered in Louisiana, 10 percent, 808, were convicted for a crime against nature and most likely are prostitutes, according to the Louisiana State Police.
In New Orleans, however, 41 percent of the 583 registered sex offenders are prostitutes.
Jindal has also signed into law Senate Bill 381 by Sen. J.P. Morrell, D-New Orleans, that puts the penalty for a first conviction for soliciting a crime against nature on the same footing as soliciting for prostitution: up to six months in jail, a maximum fine of $500 or both. It changes the crime from a felony to a misdemeanor.
But a second offense for soliciting a crime against nature would be a felony punishable by up to five years in jail, a maximum fine of $2,000 or both. If the initial conviction is solicitation of a youth under 17, the harsher penalties will apply.
The offender must register with police as a sex offender if he or she has been convicted of soliciting a minor on a first offense or after a second conviction of soliciting a crime against nature of an adult.
The new law takes effect Aug. 15.

Here's my question. Do they really enforce these laws? Afterall, New Orleans has a bawdy reputation and we all know the cops there are as corrupt as hell. Just curious because I've tended to notice that a lot of the time, all the dog does is bark and is no bite. In other words, they talk the talk in order to look good for their constituents, but in practice they look the other way. BTW, Jindal would be an outstanding president-- much better than the asswipe we have now.

Few things more dangerous than a politician desperate to get re-elected.

Is this going to be another thread that deteriorates from prostitution to politics?

Ok, so I don't know what a "Crime against Nature" entails. After reading the exact wording...I still don't:
Quote:
§89. Crime against nature
10 A. Crime against nature is: (1) The the unnatural carnal copulation by a
11 human being with another of the same sex or opposite sex or with an animal, except
12 that anal sexual intercourse between two human beings shall not be deemed as a
13 crime against nature when done under any of the circumstances described in R.S.
14 14:41, 14:42, 14:42.1 or 14:43. Emission is not necessary; and, when committed by
15 a human being with another, the use of the genital organ of one of the offenders of
16 whatever sex is sufficient to constitute the crime.
17 (2) The solicitation by a human being of another with the intent to engage in
18 any unnatural carnal copulation for compensation.
19 * * *
20 §89.2. Crime against nature by solicitation
21 A. Crime against nature by solicitation is the solicitation by a human
22 being of another with the intent to engage in any unnatural carnal copulation
23 for compensation.
|
I do see that Greek is NOT such a crime, however!
One other note; I absolutely love the word "emission" as used in the above text! "Uh-oh Baby...I'm about to have an emission"!
BTW, here in Arizona, any prostitution conviction is a mandatory 15 day jail sentence (first offense and no bail), by state law.

Dallas, my dear; you have nothing at all to worry about....
After all; according to our government, you are an Emission Control Specialist.
Now get that cute tail back over to Austin and check my emission......

Those definitions all stipulate unnatural acts. I'd say that makes them all meaningless. Sex, any sex, is completely natural. Frontwards, backwards, upside-down, any which way you can imagine, it's all natural, imho.

O.M.G. Who the hell gets to decide what "unnatural" is? To some people anything other than missionary is unnatural.
As Lefty said, sex is not a crime against nature. How the hell does this man get off stating such ridiculous blather? And what the fuck are people thinking allowing this man to dictate consensual choice?
That's it. Can I claim religious freedom? From what I remember, Paganism is now recognized and historically, sacred and temple prostitution is a practice of this belief system. I'm starting a church dammit.
*ok... refilling my coffee cup... sorry about posting before my 2nd cup of java*
