Default Gene Hackman death investigation

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gene-ha...-what-we-know/

So many questions regarding what happened to him, his wife and dog

Who's been following this tragedy? What questions do you have?

What was your favorite Gene Hackman film and why?

Carbon Minoxide, the most logical cause, was ruled out in the toxicology report. Pretty strange they died in different rooms and two other dogs were alive. Police believe they could have been dead for a week. I haven’t seen additional information. Police just said they’re suspicious.

I thought the toxicology hadn’t come back yet. Can take a while. I think the place didn’t have carbon monoxide when they got there, which was 9-10 days after he died per his pacemaker.
Dead dog in a closet? Very strange case.

Not a toxicology test. A poisonous gas test of the residence

... Hmmmm... to venture a guess - the wife may've died first,
for whatever reason, and Gene Hackman passed away after,
maybe because the wife was not able to care for him then.

... We'll just have to wait and see.

The wrong dog was reported dead. Why it helps to avoid the sensationalism, acknowledge that bad info gets amplified quickly and let investigations play out.

Sad to see him go, great actor. Hoosiers is easily in my top 5 movies of all time.

One of the most plausible theories that I have heard is that Hackman died or was dying, wife put the dog in the closet to tend to Gene. She then fell to her death with his pills or killed herself with pills upon realizing that he was dead. The dog than died from lack of care.

that makes a lot of sense given what's been released so far, however early reports found no obvious trauma on either Hackman or his wife. that may change later once the full autopsies are released. toxicology tests could show a common cause. the tests for carbon monoxide were at the home and nothing was found that could have caused their deaths. reports also say the door was ajar and could have dissipated any carbon monoxide if that really was a factor.

if his wife did commit suicide the toxicology report should show that. her health was considered excellent for someone her age, 64 and it is possible the shock of Hackman dying triggered some sort of cardiac event in the wife.

the whole thing is sad and that both died.

It gets weirder. The wife apparently died 7 days before Hackman. Some kind of cardio/pulmonary episode. Hackman, who had severe Alzheimer’s, died of a cardio issue. No word on the dog.

Wife apparently died from hantavirus. And they're thinking he may not have even known that she died... or recognized it.

Fucking tragic

Just reviewed his filmography/ What a great career. Can't let this tragically depressing death scene ruin our memory of him
