Default Russia's Penance???

I'm OK with the evolving ceasefire arrangements wrt Ulraine. But I wonder what punishment/penance, if any, is going to be imposed on Russia for its illegal, brutal and cruel violent invasion of Ukraine?

There won't be one, because it's a cease fire and not a capitulation, as happened in WW1 with Germany.

The Russians took more than they lost, they are going to keep it, with some good reasons, mainly, most people in those areas want to be part of Russia.

If you can't see both sides, you really can't speak without a bias.

Both sides bled, both sides need to make concilations to get to peace.

Remember, ALL OF NATOS, efforts to back Ukraine did NOT produce a victory.

I can't speak to the national preference of "most people"in Eastern Ukraine, but there has to be a better way to resolve such issues than causing the death of hundreds of thousands of people and physically destroying so much of a country

Of course.

But at this point, stop the carnage.

Cease fire.

Putin's history of honoring the spirit and letter of agreements is quite poor.

Even the over $300 billion in frozen assets that should be seized and given to Ukraine immediately isn't sufficient a penalty or enough to give him pause

He keeps whining about NATO expansion. He doesn't view Ukraine as a real nation. He needs a lot more NATO in what's left of his life

Apparently Trump is for more sanctions and some tariffs to prod Russia to come the table as penance for "pounding" Ukraine

This clip from MSNBC is the exact reason why so many Americans are unable to properly grasp the war in Ukraine.

The American People have been brainwashed for decades the think that Russia are the “bad guys”, simply because the movies portrayed them as bad guys since the Cold War.

The brainwashing is so thick, that dipshits like this guy on MSNBC have convinced themselves that the Ukrainians are “noble” and “more American than us”. Meanwhile, in reality, they are one of, if not THE, most corrupt nation on Earth, with literal Nazi forces in their military, one of the largest human/drug trafficking hotbeds on Earth, and they are laundering hundreds of billions of our tax dollars.

Then this guy brings up how the US need to protect our allies like in WW2. Well this might come as a surprise to him, but Russia were our allies in WW2, and many Ukrainians chose to fight for the Nazis in WW2 via the 14th Waffen, and Bandera’s pro-Nazi movement in Ukraine in the 40’s sought to align with Nazi Germany.

This clip is a brilliant microcosm of the overall complete lack of understanding in America about this conflict and how it started. The majority of Americans are basing their positions off of decades worth of Cold War propaganda, compounded with recent propaganda. All of it based on lies.

If you are convinced that we must have WW3 and send all our money to Ukraine, because the TV said the Russians are bad, then you are part of the problem.

Oh, that's Marge argument that has so many people laughing.

What penalty should Russia pay for its aggression and brutal acts of terrorism?

TV doesn't need to tell folks that looting, sexual humiliation of captives, torture, rape and murder, targeting civilians and civilian infrastrcuture, plus mass graves after whole slaughter like in Bucha are bad, Bam.

Those are terrorism and war crimes.

US and Ukrainian officials are scheduled to meet in Saudi Arabia this week, to restart negotiations.

Trump is making it clear to Zelensky that there will be no aid or intelligence, and that Zelensky needs to step down, hold elections, and Russia will be keeping territory.

Trump is not letting Zelensky sign a deal and then continue to hold Ukraine hostage and restart the money laundering operation. Trump knows Zelensky is a Deep State puppet. Trump is going to force Zelensky to step down so Ukraine can actually be a sovereign nation, and no longer a proxy of the Deep State.

This is a very promising sign.

And that would be giving Russia the green light to take more.

Putin's balls rest comfortably om Trump's chin at all times
