If the U.S. has companies in Ukraine digging up minerals, does he honestly think there wouldn’t be security guarantees? Of course there would be. America would definitely protect their interests in Ukraine….in turn protecting Ukraine.

So you think giving the U.S. access to it's minerals will keep Ukraine safe? Maybe you do, but Zelensky knows better. He does not trust Putin, with good reason. He also does not trust Trump, also with good reason. Trump is willing to sell Ukraine down the river to keep his friend Putin happy. Zelensky can visualize a scenario where Trump and Putin work out a deal where Russia takes control of Ukraine and let's Trump keep its minerals.
