IMAC
Does anyone own a IMAC (Apple) Computer? If so what do you think about it? I have one and I love it! Considering purchasing a second one very soon.

I have the Imac, 24" 1TB Hard drive, 3.08ghz, 4gb memory and I love it. I also recently bought a MacBook Pro 15", 500gb, 2.8ghz, 4gb memory, with snow leopard. I love the both, no need to worry about virus and all that update crap every time you start-up like on a PC, no freeze ups... and I could go on and on. Get a MAC... you will never look at a PC again.
I too am considering purchasing one for my S.O. We both have Iphones and I also have, but have not set it up as yet is a 2TB time Capsule for back up and storage on our home wireless network...
All MAC baby....

Get one
Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!
The only problem is you get the urge to buy all the other mac goodies available like time capsule, which rules. I passed on appletv though.

Saw the new 4g IPhone today. Wow the HD springs out at you. Don't know if its' worth the extra money. Kind of like the TVs or good scotch, don't try it unless you can afford it or you will always be disappointed.

I'm pretty sure the new iPhone isn't '4g'
4g is the new network that is "up to 10 times faster than 3g."
I think the only phone out right now with 4g is sprint's Evo.

IPAD!
I purchased the IPAD 32gb several weeks back and love it! It does everything I was looking for and much more. Very compact. I am a diehard Apple fan, I am not impressed with the new Iphone though. Considering purchasing a second IMAC soon for the household. If you don't have a Apple computer look into it, you will be one happy camper.

I have the new iPhone 4 and it's great, I love apple products and have pretty much all of them
Simple, easy, aesthetically pleasing, I could go on.
I never have a problem with buying apple products even when I want to try them out. The thing about them is they really hold their value in one way or another. So I feel safe I can always resell them for a good price. I paid for the first iPhone and sold each one since for the price of the new one, not ever taking out of my pocket. etc.
Oh, and the iPhone 4, it's called iPhone 4 not 4G, it is the 4th Generation iPhone, but as far as network goes it works with the 3G network and is not LTE (4G) capable. They have to leave something for next year and on

Pre-ordered my Iphone 4, had them since 2G. Really impressed, the build quality is solid and the screen is amazing. I did have that reception issue when held in left hand, but I've always had my phones in cases so once I got one, no problems whatsoever. Really a non-issue for me.
For entry level Mac noobs, maybe a Mac Mini is the way to get your feet wet.

I hate to sound like some Mac fanboy, but I absolutely love their products. I have a Macbook Pro and a 3G iPhone. My first experience with Apple was with my uncle's Apple IIs something or other. It was the first time I had seen a mouse and even at 10 years old, I was amazed at the simplicity of the visual based operating system and ease of use. My Macbook hasn't been without the very occasional glitch, but I don't have to deal with 99% of the crap that my PC using friends do.

I have a Macbook and an iPad, but I build my own PCs and honestly don't think there is nearly as much difference as there used to be. With Windows 7 Ultimate (64) on my PC and snow leopard on the macbook... I use MS office on both. Not a ton of difference.
I would switch to an iPhone if they ever got away from AT&T. Very poor reception, and customer service is non-existent. I switched to the big red V a few years ago and haven't looked back.
My neighbors that have AT&T have to go onto their back porch to use their phone at their house. WTF year is it? Its not like I live in central Montana, SA is one of the top ten cities by population in the US... and I'm within the city limits, near a major interstate. If I can't get reception here, I have zero confidence in the ability to make calls when needed, on top of the fact that it would be nice to be able to use my phone INSIDE my house.

PC's are definitely the way to go for customization, especially if you can do your own builds. You could configure a beast of a machine for less than a Mac, and there's also more software available. However, after using PC's my whole life until 3 years ago (and building them back in the day), I think Macs are easier for non-techies to use right out of the box. I don't think Apple's hardware or OS is that much better than it's PC equivalent. Apple's strength lies in its effective fusion of form, function, and simplicity. It's almost as if they build something, then look for things to subtract without compromising the objective of the product. That philosophy of paring something down to its essence is reflected in their logo, their marketing, their packaging, the appearance of their stores, and even the retail staff's uniforms. Here's a perfect example of what Apple DOESN'T do.

I just hope Apple maintains its vision and culture and avoids the nearly inevitable fate of many "too big to fail" companies. It'll be interesting to see what Apple will be like in 10 to 20 years after Steven Jobs and his other executives aren't running the show anymore.
And BTW, I concur with your opinion of At&t. I wish that the iPhone could be opened up to other providers too.
