Professional Photos vs. Selfies: What Do You Prefer?

I hope you’re all having a great day! I wanted to get some insights from the community regarding a topic that often comes up: the type of photos we use to showcase ourselves.

When it comes to profiles, do you find that men generally prefer professional photos, or are they more drawn to selfies that capture a more personal touch?

I’ve noticed some differing opinions on this matter, and I’m curious about your experiences. Do you think professional photos convey a sense of professionalism and trust, or do selfies create a stronger personal connection?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and any tips you might have about photo selection!

As a professional photographer I would always say go Pro! The main thing is not to over edit images so when you open the door you look like the images. I suggest mixing in some selfies just to assure skeptics that it's the real you. I have done providers photos for years, lately though with the new cell phones most just rely on selfies. I think pro photos DO add trust and professionalism. If a provider cares enough about her images I think in most cases her overall business sense would be top shelf.

I like a good mix. I appreciate investment in yourself of professional shoots, but also appreciate the selfies to determine how much, if any, touch ups we done on the pro pics. They help me set proper expectations on my end.

I think most ladies want to showcase will show off their greatest assets as they see them. The push what they think brings in the guys. If it's sexy it doesn't need PS.

A mix. Professional photos obviously look nicer. Have some photos that aren’t filtered to hell and back. Some girls look like cartoons after they apply a bunch of filters.

Years ago, when we had a vibrant HDH forum here, I remember this question was asked and batted around like we're doing here. My response remains unchanged, professional photos are preferred but they must be properly done. By that I mean they must be shot for the intended audience, not just to enhance the image of the lady. For example, nothing reboots my computer faster than professional shots of mature ladies in ragged cutoff jean shorts and a man's dress shirt. To me, it says, "How I look and how I act just might be two different things." It hints that she can act both ways. It's the art of the tease and for that, you'll need a professional.

All that being said, any kind of photo will work because ladies are just beautiful.
