Taking sand to the beach
Or as my (Persian) friend used to say... Never take a Persian rug to Persia.
I've lived by those words. With travel comes new adventures and new friends. If you travel like I do, the friends usually are a big part of the adventure.
So I find myself in an unusual pickle. I'm scheduled for a business trip to a place with a very thin hobby environment - meaning the usual sources of on-demand bliss are proving relatively worthless for talent scouting. When you search a town on Eccie and come up with nada, hit P411 and find 3, dig forever to find ancient reviews on TER and don't even see the the other acronyms register - WTF?
I'm seriously considering an import. Vehicles? Yes. Caviar? Uh huh. A fine watch - yup. Makes perfect sense. Bring it from a place that makes the best. But importing ass? This is something that requires discussion, thought, reflection!!!
Like most of our dedicated scholars of the Eccie library, I've giggled at the personal websites posting $$$$$ exponential travel options with 1st class requirements and expectations of grandeur. But no matter where I go, something wonderful awaits. I've never considered taking-with! And this is coming from a guy who loves the overnight. I dont bargain shop. I'm not looking for a bng. I'm looking for a bn-stay-a-little-longer.
So with that, some feedback from my comrades, compatriots and companions. While many claim they are ready to travel - are you? Any words of wisdom from my fellow degenerates? Does anyone really hop a plane to another city with a provider? Do any providers really long for a trip out of town? Shit. It's 105. Everyone wants a trip out of town. But what's the rub?
And while this is not in the ISO - clearly I'm shopping. If not for this trip - perhaps another?
Many thanks to all who stumble upon this and have wisdom to offer.
