The site FAQ even mentions Altered States at the end LOL. Probably should do the float tank before watching that movie...

Unfortunately for us hobby folks, only one person allowed in a tank. But I guess sex would be the opposite of sensory deprivation anyway. Still, it would be intriguing...

We look forward to your report, johnny!

so just got back from trying it out. The place is really professional and has that zen type feel, and really well kept and clean inside. it has private locker rooms, and private float rooms that each have their own shower inside of it. once you start to float the lights stay on for about 5 min in your tank to give you time to get acquainted, then its pitch black, and sound proof. you float effortlessly due to the 1200lbs of epsom salt in the 10 inches of water. the water temp is kept just at about your normal room skin temp which helps you to loose your sense of self. with no outside stimuli, your left with just your thoughts, at times i guess my mind was playing tricks on me and i could see some red steaking lightning type lights which was trippy. it was totally relaxing, and the 90min went by so fast i could have sworn it was like only 30min inside the pod. totally recommend it to anyone who is curious.

My 60 minute session seemed like only 20 minutes and relaxed me.

My right elbow would touch the wall and I'd gently nudge it off. Then a minute later my left elbow would touch the wall. And that cycle would repeat. I couldn't tell that I was moving during the cycles.

I thought I'd worry about going under the water. But floating in water is very natural, like lying on a really soft bed. I could feel my back decompress while floating.

Overall it was relaxing.

The cost is a little more the 1/2 of the cost of an hour session at Lucky's or about the same as 30 minutes with Broadway Lisa.

One of my clients recently mentioned it to me. I don't think you'd go under water because of all the salt. Seems pretty neat though, I'm thinking of trying it too

Helpful FAQ for that from their website:

Yes, but you’re not submerged in water, you don’t eat ritualistic mushrooms, and only a small percentage of floaters turn into proto-human monkeys"

I wonder whether they charge extra for turning you into a monkey.

BTW, they also offer massages. Do they have cute massage therapists? I don't think they do anything dirty but I don't want to be massaged by a fat guy.
