Violent threats via text

I'm getting very violent pictures--decapitated people--and phone calls, other text.

If nothing else happens, should I just ignore, or what is best?

Who knows who is sending you the messages? It could be a pimp, provider, or a former business associate.

1st step I would take is to block the number.

If that doesn't work you may want to change numbers?

You could file a police report. For the police to take it very far they would want access to your phone and would find out you have been texting various numbers. A quick search of the numbers would reveal the numbers are to escorts. The technology team at the PD would download all the websites you went to and find this post you have posted.

Would you want your hobby activities to be uncovered? If your married probably not? If your single then maybe.
Which takes me back to the first step of blocking the number. 2nd step would be changing numbers. Before you file a report,I would take a look back at your life and determine who would want to scare you?

Your experiencing the exact reason why I have a hobby phone. All my searches, calls, and texts related to the hobby are all on that phone.

A wise man once told when I entered the hobby..."keep your private life separate from your hobby life."

I got one several months ago. Ignored it, blocked the number, and deleted the conversation. Never got anything else.

Try talking directly with the person you THINK this may be coming from. DO NOT SEND MONEY TO THESE ASSHATS!!! You are asking for more trouble when you respond to this scam. Use rational cognitive thinking and ask yourself if this could be "The Game" trying to fet a piece of "The Hobby"? DO NOT REACT! I have had a number of clients deal with this scam and it's starting from just one click on a link somewhere.

Tell them you want a face-to-face meeting and then give them a time and the address of the local FBI office.

If you acknowledge that you got the text they'll just send even more, just block them and forget them
