Default Poor quality reviews!

What is up with all of these poor quality reviews? I can easily count several reviews that are nothing more than just a few poorly spelled sentences.

Are the mods and admins working on some sort of review quality control?

Ryan,

There will always be reviews that aren't as good as others. Normally you see that from folks that don't have PA. I offer to help folks write reviews and sometimes they take me up on it.

My suggestion is when you see a review that isn't very helpful, respond to it and ask for more details or try to offer suggestions to help.

In all comments on reviews, remember that you are most likely either responding to a NEWBIE or an Idiot. If the response is to harsh it may make the reviewing newbie go into the lurk mode. For the idiot nothing is likely to ever change him, so in all case be helpful and kind.

Bubba, Yea man you are right. No go back and take those sugar pills the Dr. ordered and see if you can sweeten up a little.

Haha! Great way to put it Bull. This is exactly why I didnt review my most recent visit with Kelsey. I felt that it would be a bad review and it was best not posted. It was an off day for me and I wouldnt want my review that lacked on activities to reflect poorly on her. Just wasnt my day.

Long story short...poor quality reviews could be newbies, guys having off days or as Bull said...IDIOTS. Haha!

Any review is a review of progress. No review is worse. Tread
light bro, it could be worse.

I have always believed we should offer encouragement (vs flames) to the novice review writer. I know I had to re-write my first review 3 times before I was granted BCD/TROTS (The Rest Of The Story) credit. It wasn't because I was lazy or didn't care, I didn't know how. Someone kept giving me tips until finally the light went on.
Some of solutions could be:
1. Have the Mods establish a couple of volunteer, veteran review writers in each forum as designated mentors/coaches. Their sole purpose would be to help improve these reports for the benefit of our community.
2. Give all newbies TROTS access for 30-60 days, free. Then they can see what a good review looks like and use it as their template.
3. Establish a template with stricter guidance with regard to questions that MUST be addressed to be a qualifying review (TROTS Credit).
4. All of the above

I see that a "How to review" thread has been added to the top of our review forum if not every review forum on the board.

Thanks for looking out LAP!
