The failed democrat philosophy on gun ownership
Your philosophy is usually bigger than the here and now. Last week I got into a conversation with a couple of colleagues, one I know pretty well and the other not at all. For starters they don't like the second amendment. I mean, they think it should be repealed or ignored.
I put it to them that I owned one rifle. I have never threatened anyone with it, it is locked away, and I have been convicted (much less accused) of a violent criminal offense. Would they take away my means to protect myself, my family, or others around me? There was a lot of back and forth about what a militia was, how far could I go to protect myself, and what about non-lethal protection but in the end both admitted that MY ownership was not a threat to their well being or society.
So I told them I actually owned more than a rifle. I own several dozen weapons including black rifles, high capacity handguns, and thousands of rounds under lock and key. They went off like shaken bottles of warm soda. No way should I be allowed more than a couple of guns, no "assault" weapons, and I had no reason to have more than only the bullets in the gun (with low capacity magazines).
I pointed out how flawed their philosophy was. One gun is safe, two guns are safe but even under the same security my real number of guns is unsafe, illogical, and should be illegal. One or a hundred, the risk is the same. They left shaking their heads. I guess that is what thinking looks like when it is in progress.
What say you?

they are feelers not thinkers
the dim party is replete with people who feel
somehow someone having many weapons feels unsafe to them
maybe they associate "many" with mental instability or something and so they feel no sane person would have them and therefore they feel unsafe with the idea
their un-thought out position is to push their beliefs on everyone, its their religion of sorts

I own several rifles and pistols and shotguns.
Economies of scale apply to the "guns make me feel safe" argument.
At some point, it just makes you a bigger target for theft, burglary or accidental shooting. Now if you are a hunter, collector, recreational shooter or rancher I can see why your number of guns would be higher.
Me, I'm trying to sell or give some of the guns away so I have more room in my closet for better guns. Unlike my wife, I don't feel I need to buy a bigger house with a bigger closet.
Some gun owners are like cat ladies, they think two dozen cats make me feel loved but three dozen cats would be even better.

DPST's want to follow the Socialist -Totalitarian model of Lenin, Stalin Hitler, Mao, Castro, Maduro - and disarm the population to control them.
Hence the propaganda that simple possession of a weapon is wrong.
It is a strong opinion in Kalifornia and the Liberal coasts.

That should be a public point. The left is always claiming that the right is trying to take away our freedoms. Who is it that is making a dictatorship more likely? The dems who want all guns taken away or the republicans who would prefer everyone who wants, be armed?

We've been through this many times on this forum. A very small handful of people in this country want all guns taken away. More on the right seem to want no restrictions at all on ownership of guns.
The majority of people on both the left and right want some level of gun control, some want strict laws and some want lenient laws, but most all want laws.

It's more than a handful. The problem is they are very vocal and have the lapdog media to espouse their view.
The people on the right want to hold the govt bureaucrats accountable for flaws in the existing system. As I've pointed out many times the people in the FLA that failed the shooter, the schoolkids and the public have not been held responsible for their mistakes. Nor has there been an action plan invoked to ensure the mistakes don't happen again.
The people on the left want more laws that in the end will only benefit criminals. I have several FB friends who are unabashedly for taking away all the guns in America-even the police. Only the US military would have guns.

Move to Kalifornia and see how SomeOne fits in with the DPSTs There.
The fences are around Pelosi's houses, not at the border.
Weapons are anathema to the Kalifornia fruits and nuts. They figure MS-13 will protect them from the big, bad, evil Conservatives and Republicans.
Give Kalifornia back to the Mexican drug cartels - they are welcome to all in it.

A Free and independent Press is one of the strengths of our Constitutional system
Government control- as exemplified by Maduro and many others- is the enemy of the people
A"Weaponized" and/or government controlled media - as CNN, MSNBC, and other parroting DPST outlets - is an enemy of a free people. Like a number of posters in this forum - who cannot respond constructively to debate about issues - the opposition to freedom of speech of those with different opinion is a clear threat to a Democratic Representative Constitutional system of government.
SomeOne sees Russians under the bed,
Try watching the Alan Arkin Movie -"The Russians are Coming"!!!!
