According to current popular opinion, this Presidential election is going to be closer than previously thought.

The question is by when do you think the election results will be known?

. . . Will we know the results on Tuesday night or will it be a nail biter without immediate resolution until later?

But I voted (guessed) that we'll probably have a pretty good idea by 11 p.m. (EST) Tuesday night.

However...

What if Ohio is as close as many pundits predict? If the number of outstanding absentee ballots then exceeds the margin between the candidates, provisional ballots might not be counted until November 17th, or perhaps even later:

Ohio will not be close enough for some sort of recount and it will be over around midnight.

As close as everything is, I would not be surprised to see something along the lines of the 2000 election. Even Rasmussen will not attempt to predict a winner with the closeness of the swing states (mostly 0-3 point difference, hence a statistical tie).

If there are recounts, and Romney prevails, the Dimo's will riot. We may see something similar to what happened with Obama's cousin, Raila Odinga, in his failed election in Kenya. Obama campaigned for Odinga's election in 2006 and raised a million dollars for his campaign. Odinga pledged to convert Kenya to Sharia law if elected. Odinga lost in a close election, and alleged voter fraud. Odinga's supporters rioted and there was a bloodbath. Obama never withdrew his support. Odinga was finally allowed to share power with his opponent.

In listening to the Sunday morning news this morning, some interesting facts came up.

I don't know exactly how you poll an entire country, but according to the results of the preferences that countries have for the next President, their preference is clear.

All the countries with one exception, prefer President Obama to remain in office.

The only country that preferred Romney was, you guessed it, Pakistan.

. . . I suppose that Pakistan is not very happy with President Obama after his order of infiltrating their country in the dead of night to take out Osama Bin Laden. What a backward country!

Poll after poll shows Israelis favor Republican candidate Mitt Romney over US President Barack Obama. This even though their American Jewish brethren hold the opposite point of view. Why?

It is interesting that you bring up Israel.

I don't know why, but that was one country that was not in the survey. However, the moderator did ask an Israeli official on the show what he thought about that.

. . . He said that question was not so simple to answer because their country is divided. The Conservatives favor Romney, but the more Liberal and the Centralists prefer President Obama.

Actually it's very simple. The Israelis have been polled repeatedly and Romney wins everytime.
