How does one become eligible to be a Moderator?

Actually, good reviews and good posts is what does it for the most part. Being a positive force on the board goes a long way too. Sometimes when you see a negative comment, posting a positive comment or solution is well received.

When there is an opening in an area, the owners usually ask the current Mods (or even the one retiring) if they have any suggestions.

Being noticed in a positive light is the best way since there is not an application process per-say. Building a relationship with the current staff is another way to be noticed.

I agee with Lea - it's mostly about having a good rep on the board as well as showing experience in the "hobby". There's not an application to fill out but when there's an upcoming vacancy/new need, the existing mods and/or owners typically look at the regular posters in an area and see who they feel would be a good fit as a mod. and nominate one or two people.

After a person is selected, they are then issued their Prozac and armor and sent to the front line to see if they survive!
