Will there be a new Fed Chairman?
I dare to speculate that this has much more long term ramifications than Rittenhouse...
https://www.politico.com/amp/news/20...www.google.com
Sources close to the process say the president is still deciding between reappointing Powell, a Republican elevated to the role by former President Donald Trump, or putting his own stamp on the Fed by going with Brainard. Most members of Biden’s economic team and lawmakers in both parties have pushed for a Powell second term. But some progressive Democrats, who speak frequently to White House chief of staff Ron Klain, have resisted, declaring they want a Fed leader more committed to toughening financial regulation and addressing climate change.

Who cares. Both were behind the curve on controlling inflation. But politicians in control, like Biden and formerly Trump, like those easy money policies during election years, so I imagine Biden will appoint one or the other.
How’s the Fed going to influence carbon emissions? Shut off loans to the fossil fuels industry? That wouldn’t be good for your portfolio. Pipelines borrow a lot of money

What pipelines? Joey Bribes is shutting them down. Except Russia’s.

Why do you think I care more about this than Rittenhouse?
Is you point that it does not matter which to the working man!
But it should matter to TheWacoKid and his stock portfolio!

Rittenhouse, Another good one. You guys have made a thread on the Fed entertaining, that’s a tough row to hoe.
As to THE WORKINGMAN, a Fed that would control inflation would help him.
And I suspect your share portfolio is as exposed to the Democrats’ carbon emissions agenda as anyone’s here

Despite evidence to the contrary for the last 40 years!
I suppose we both could argue it would have been even worse with higher inflation.

There’s evidence for the last 40 years that inflation helps the Workingman? I’d like to see it. When inflation in goods and services outpaces nominal wage growth, like what’s happening now, that’s not good for the Workingman. He’s losing ground.

There is 40 years of evidence of low inflation NOT helping the working man.
That is not to say high inflation helps the working man.
It could be argued that unadulterated capitalism does not help the working man. That Socialism does not help the working man but that a combo of the two may in fact help the working man. I remember reading some quarterly that argued that capitalism was much more working man friendly when faced with the competition of Soviet Socialism. They argued we got the best of both.

I think Biden is a left progressive fuck and way further than anyone thought which is why his owners won't let him run again. So that fact of him being too far left may lead to his desire for a new Chairman. However, Joe got his fucking ass handed to him on silver platter after his "I'm losing patience on Americans" press conference. Since then his owners kenneled him and he hasn't been as naughty. So I'm now leaning Powell stays as it really is best to keep the Captain that helped the country through a storm and not execute him.

Awww.... thanks for sharing those deep thoughts, wtfraudman!
I remember reading some quarterly that argued opening the borders to give you an unlimited supply of illegals to build your Houston McMansions on the cheap was good for the working man too!
