Default Tax Refund Money, How Do You Spend It?

I FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER SITE & THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING----

Most people say they plan to use this year’s tax refund to pay bills, deciding in this sour economy to be more frugal with their annual windfall.

So my question to you is, how will you choose to spend your money from Uncle Sam??

A Poll found the following:

* 31 percent of those receiving refunds said they will use at least part of the money to pay credit card bills, compared with 17 percent a year ago.
* 19 percent said they will use their refunds to pay utility bills, compared with 10 percent a year ago.
* 17 percent said they will use their refunds for rent or mortgage payments, compared with 7 percent a year ago.
* 11 percent of those receiving refunds said they would use them to go on vacation, a slight increase from a year ago.
* 5 percent said they planned to use their refund for a down payment on a car, also a slight increase.
* 4 percent said they would use their refunds to buy stocks or bonds, about the same as a year ago.
* 8 percent of those who owe taxes said they were very likely or somewhat likely to use a credit card to pay their tax bill.

I have not gotten a refund in years, I am one of those that sends a check, but I do remember when I did get them and this was in early 90's. I used my refund to pay my daughter's tuition for private school. That's when I was in the Marine Corps.

I have not received a refund in almost 30 years now.

For some reason they (the government) keep wanting more and more of my money. I would love to tell them to go and f**k themselves but I am too pretty to be in jail....

I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.

(Couldn't help that one!)

Since I started my self-(un)employment, in the few, rare instances when I have gotten a refund, it hasn't been much. It usually goes into a separate account used for paying my quarterly taxes and just gets sent back a few months later. I'm waiting for my CPA to tell me how much I'll owe this year. Fuckin' self-employment tax sucks! And for what, to give it all to someone to lazy to earn their own money or fund the unnecessary pet projects of the bastards in DC?

Dave. The real bitch is we pay double SE tax and it probaly won't be there when we get ready to collect it since our reps have seen fit to rob it for all thier pet bullshit projects.
Now Omama may raise our taxes to cover the ridiclous spending he is doing and not getting anything done with it.

Exactly. The bad part is I started working at 16. I'm almost 41 now. 24 years of putting into the system and, if I make it that long, another 27 years to retirement age. Over 50 years of working and paying into Social Security and it'll be busted in a few years and I'll never see any of it. Too bad we can't skip paying into that big ass hole and put it in our own savings/IRA accounts. At least it will be there for me when I need it, barring any market crashes, and not to illegal immigrants and lazy fucks.

Dave and RPM... Totally agree.. I started with paper routes at 12 and I am 60. Could start drawing at 62 but then you lose money if you keep working and I have too. So I will postpone. Then when I get ready, "F**k You... it's all gone on our pet projects and to folks who never worked a day in their lives but are "disabled""

Sorry for this one Big C but... "Call me and I'll get you the money you DESERVE!"

Wish they had Never let "professionals" advertise.

There are some good programs, my sisters husband died young and left her with 3 kids and no income. She collected his benifits till the youngest turned 21. I don't like the free loaders on welfare and all the other programs with no limits on time.
And they wonder why alot of small business's don't report all there income.
Doc, you and I are in the same boat, I'm drawing 2 pension checks each month and when I can get SS I'll have to quit working or quit reporting income altoghether. And it's not going to get any better for the younger crowd, GOD help them. after the DEM's get done with all their spending.

Default What's Up With No Refund???

You guys need a good accountant. One with some balls. I changed accountants about 4 years ago, he is expensive, but worth every penny. I probably pay in too much during the year, but 5 years ago when my old accountant told me on april 10th that I owed 98k, I changed accountants and started paying in more during the year.

I have a good tax man.... but my goal is not to get a refund! My goal is to pay the IRS as little as possible! If I am in a generous mood , quarterly... I may get a refund in April. But , if I am as pissed off at the government as I have been over the past year.... I am no where near as generous!!

My end goal is to always break-even at the end.... and only owe the bastards for the 1st Qtr of their next begging session, on April 15.... NOT another poke after the ass-raping I took for the past 12 months!!

A refund only means that I've given them interest free money all year.... WTF would I want to do that?

EXACTLY!!!!! I Don't like to owe, and try not to, but I'm not giving them my money interest free when I can use it to pay my own bills or hobby with it. I have some clients that take 3 months to pay my invoices. If I have to wait to get paid, so can the IRS.
